Wacky...I wouldn't have thought Draper were overly enamoured with it, not exactly showing off their brand in all its glory

Is this based on the WW1 warship camouflage, so that  player blend in with the surroundings and can't be seen by the opposition?

Down side our own team cant see each other either.

I started going at the beginning of the 70s and I remember it was becoming quite common for supporters of numerous clubs to call their rivals “scum”. We mostly ignored them but some that went down  to Milkin’s (think that was his name) testimonial in the late 60s saw the real start of the rivalry between us. It was also the when football hooliganism was becoming all the rage and, apparently, it was a bit ‘nawty’ that night.

From that night some Saints fans changed ‘Pom’ for ‘scum’ and then referred to them as Scumpey. Tbh I can only remember them calling us scummers at first but some of ours were doing the same soon after - we should have just stuck with scumpey 😇

The whole Skates/Scummers things is fairly recent, think it was the pompey fanzine named after the game in 88 that did the original story (stolen from millwall originally) about the made up dock strike and the bullshit name of Scum/Scummer. Then the Ugly Inside (when it was a paper fanzine) responded with choosing the name Skate for them based on the fact it's what they called matlows and would annoy them.

Somehow it's got a bit lost in recent years and a lot of our own social media nippers seem to want to share the made up crap about the dock strike (despite the fact that it was us who had a strike and them that broke it)

Not surprised it’s been held back. How much disappointment can you handle in one go?

There was quite a funny reason for that.

We really do need better kit designers. I can't believe how wrong they get it every time.

Pure class. Why are fan mocks up always so much better than what we get dished up?

Pretty sure I read once that the reason mock up kits tend to look better is due to cost. It would be too expensive to produce them in real terms 🤷🏻‍♂️

I'm sure the 90% margins that are made on these shirts make it entirely impractical.

Well yeah agree, but think the point was production cost would be higher for mock up designs.

Totally possible given you can buy the shirts for £10 online and they are still making profits on that too

FYI: anyone who wanted a men's shirt with Starling rather than Rollbit, they are now available on the club's online shop

I had been wondering when it would be available online. I suspect it will prove popular.

Would be interested in the shirt sales of both this seasons and last seasons Starling-sponsored shirts in men's sizes

I can't find it on DHGate, any chance you could message me the link?

Yeah, as @Wsaint said, the one I’ve ordered is the normal one (per his link) - not the Starling logo.  Nevertheless for £16 delivered I think I’ll be able able to live with it!

Anyone had one of these yet? If so are they any good

I know you can't expect the world for the price but the I got the other didn't look great at all - the badge was tiny and it was clearly fake.

Do we know when the squad numbers will be confirmed? Don’t want to buy a shirt with a number that then gets re-allocated!

Expand

Technically they don't have to be confirmed until the registration deadline on transfer deadline day but it will be announced earlier than that. Last year they were announced 3rd August. You can sometimes see which positions we still intend to fill based on the numbers left free between 1 and 11.

Apparently if you rub nail varnish remover on the inside of the shirt where the logo is it just peels off. I might give it a go with an older one.

Feedback on this method would be appreciated.

They’ve largely been confirmed.

Have a nosy at the team sheets, Harwood-Bellis 6, Downes 4, Taylor 21, Sugawara 16 etc 😀

If I could find the Starling Bank shirt for £20 I’d probably buy it, but £60 for a shirt is digusting.

You've got to be a real mug to spend that kind of money on a football shirt. Such a waste.
