Saint Fan CaM Posted 1 January, 2024 Posted 1 January, 2024 Yep Bednarek off for Adams. Stephens to CB. KWP clattered again and nothing given. Not looking like a good day. 1

Basically every single time Norwich get the ball in the central midfield area, their player looks up (or doesn't every time thankfully). And out far on the right wing in acres of space is Stacey. Every time he is there and free. Where is manning you might ask? Marking no one and about 20yards away from him. Maybe he's been told to do that, but whatever it is, its Norwich's most likely route to getting a goal. Also, i think Stacey should have seen red for his tackle, so what i absolutely do not want is us to concede a goal to a diagonal pass out to stacey, to then assist a goal, and us lose 1-0. Manning has been told to do that. I would have thought that was obvious by now as it happens every week. I don’t really understand or necessarily agree with the logic of it frankly - ie it’s to keep ourselves defensively compact - but I don’t think singling out manning week after week for a slating - as happens here every match - for doing what he’s told is entirely fair on the bloke. “Blame” RM if you want to blame someone for this apparent vulnerability in our play but Manning is just doing what he’s told. 4 1
The Cat Posted 1 January, 2024 Posted 1 January, 2024 Surely everyone has realised by now that we defend narrowly and Manning takes up defensive positions as instructed? He's not just fucking off the wide man because he can't be arsed as seems to the consensus from the first half posts. 2
DT Posted 1 January, 2024 Posted 1 January, 2024 Would take a point today. Got a bad feeling. Especially now old scuffer Che Adams is on. Come on Saints. Try some shots on target.
Elmore Saint Posted 1 January, 2024 Posted 1 January, 2024 Ref needs to get a grip on this. I'm all for good strong physical football, but Norwich are getting pretty agricultural with their approach. 2

I don't think he's being instructed, I think he's concerned about getting too close because of his lack of pace and ability to defend 1 Vs 1.

Holmes_and_Watson Posted 1 January, 2024 Posted 1 January, 2024 Adams nice and central, although the ball doesn;t reach him.

adrian lord Posted 1 January, 2024 Posted 1 January, 2024 Sense our concentration levels have dipped after the break.
Saint NL Posted 1 January, 2024 Posted 1 January, 2024 Classic manning, give the ball away then foul your man when trying to win it back
Saint_clark Posted 1 January, 2024 Posted 1 January, 2024 Commentator got way too excited about that shot from Adams, it was never looking like it would go in.

Suhari Posted 1 January, 2024 Posted 1 January, 2024 That's greedy from Che. Wee Man was free and clear.

OttawaSaint Posted 1 January, 2024 Posted 1 January, 2024 Too hard from Che but a decent idea to catch Gunn off of the line,

Holmes_and_Watson Posted 1 January, 2024 Posted 1 January, 2024 Adams watch: Does enough to put a player off so we get the ball, drops back 5 yards to receive one of our direct passes, with wich he's have space to turn and run towards their box. The pass doesn't come. They get some space on the right back position, but we break. Now if someone was to do that chip, it would be Adams. But Fraser was central and available for at least a ball in there. A uch better option.
Disco Stu Posted 1 January, 2024 Posted 1 January, 2024 Another heavy challenge on KWP. Finally a yellow card. 1
Sheaf Saint Posted 1 January, 2024 Posted 1 January, 2024 ooh, so close. Aribo just couldn't get enough on it.
Saint NL Posted 1 January, 2024 Posted 1 January, 2024 Nice to see a yellow at last for the tackles on KWP
Saint86 Posted 1 January, 2024 Posted 1 January, 2024 Fair advantage and good delayed booking from the ref there at least. Although i might have preferred a free kick.

Holmes_and_Watson Posted 1 January, 2024 Posted 1 January, 2024 Decent move from us there. Lots of touches, and Aribo waiting on the back post. That Norwich keeper did well, passing out form under pressure. He's just the sort of keeper that we...oh... 🙂
adrian lord Posted 1 January, 2024 Posted 1 January, 2024 (edited) They are doing a dirty job on our wingers, Edozie crocked and they seem determined to take out KWP. Edited 1 January, 2024 by adrian lord 1
Chez Posted 1 January, 2024 Posted 1 January, 2024 great attack from us. Almost stretched Norwich to breaking point. COYR
Holmes_and_Watson Posted 1 January, 2024 Posted 1 January, 2024 Another decent passing move in their box. Manning did well there, realising his own shot would be blocked and immediately cutting it back. Fraser having to do a lot of work from deeper. Just need one of these, because we're letting Gunn off really easy today.
Sheaf Saint Posted 1 January, 2024 Posted 1 January, 2024 Again they try to take KWP out but Rowe comes off worse from it.
Saint Billy Posted 1 January, 2024 Posted 1 January, 2024 I'm worried if Alcaraz comes on will he stay on?

SambaMaverick Posted 1 January, 2024 Posted 1 January, 2024 What is he doing putting his head in there
Holmes_and_Watson Posted 1 January, 2024 Posted 1 January, 2024 That was dirty from KWP, allowing himself to be utterly clattered by Rowe. 🙂 1
Saint86 Posted 1 January, 2024 Posted 1 January, 2024 Nice bit of time wasting / breaking up saints' game there by Rowe.
