Barsiem Posted Tuesday at 14:09 Posted Tuesday at 14:09 https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/james-vince-why-i-quit-red-ball-cricket-and-others-will-follow-1469811 Link confirms what Weston stated above from Vince himself, but the changes the ECB have made also have been part of his thinking. Real shame for Hants and English cricket in general. 2

Big loss for Hampshire and red ball in 2025 will be a struggle but at the start of the season he is 34, not going to be selected by England again, had the issues with the house. With the PCL moving the window over May-June that’s probably been the biggest factor but after his contribution to Hampshire cricket I can’t feel any ill towards him at all in having a lucrative semi-retirement. Kohler Cadmore at Somerset is a bit younger at 30 though, good summer and Hundred and could easily get into England’s white ball set up. Bit early to be chasing the grotes that badly. No Hampshire follower could think ill of Vince's decision. As for Kohler Cadmore, don't know much about his case but he's without doubt just another sporting personality lured to the Gulf by the apparently excellent facilities and climate. I believe half of tennis's who's who are based there. 1
