We look excellent today, I think. I love Bazunu's distribution. Harwood Bellis putting some beautiful passes in, Downes so assured, even Holgate looking decent.

Well now. That was two Baz passes on the riskier side. And Downes didn't get that second one and we nearly conceded. Baz hasn;t been shy in thumping it recently. When it doesn;t quite work out, we can expect pressure, and we were switched on enbough to stop that one (although had the WBA stayed on his feet, he might have had a shot away)

He shouldn't do that! It is ridiculous to take unnecessary risks.

A few nearly things.

Alcaraz does well, but just doesn;t pick out AA's run behind the defence.

For his part, AA then doesn;t know that Sule would make a run and pass it into space for him to run onto.

Smallbone, doing every job as usual, doesn;t quite have the power to get a ball into AA.

When there's a chance to get it into the middle, we have to pause, as we've had to run from deep.

Little things, that don;t quite click. Not that they all have to. Any one of these would give us every chance to go one up.

Meanwhile, that was a decent chance for WBA.

Half time.

Mostly good, just a bit complacent at the end. Really need that second goal to kill them off.

Holgate, Downes and Alcarez have impressed. Bree is a big improvement on Manning.

Just need the big fella to come on and put this game to bed.

I think we're seeing the benefit of both a settled side and competition for places:

Holgate - know's Stephens is nearly fit and he'll be back to 4th choice so he needs to play out of his skin today.

Bree - knows if he lets his standards slip Manning will come back in

Adam Armstrong - despite being captain and one of the leagues top scorers will be feeling the pressure of Ross Stewart nearing fitness.

Also I'm loving the mini breakthrough that Alcatraz has had today, and last week. Just need him to start pumping in the goals from the edge of the area again.

Are they? Didn't they lose in the Cup the other day?

In the league. They'll probably see that cup upset as a blessing.

Would much prefer another goal before expecting Stewart to come on and score. If we’re drawing or losing it will be too much pressure on him and risks an injury setback.

I'd honestly just give him a few minutes at the end, get back into things

Please saints let’s not do our usual go to sleep routine post HT break. Soak it up for 10 minutes and get a second 🙏

When did we last concede within 10 minutes of half time?
