Schools are shut though Central soton, we had half a dozen wheelie bins go over and people's recycling blowing all over the shop. Seems calm and damp now though. The 1pm new bulletin on the radio talked about how this storm is battering the South. Apparently causing havoc right across Hants. Nipped to the shop over lunch, it was just a little bit wet and windy. Thankfully, hordes of schools were shut for the day, just in case.

Fan The Flames Posted 4 November, 2023 Share Posted 4 November, 2023 Schools close too easily. My kids primary school closed one time because the teachers had a terrible journey home the afternoon before, because snow had caused gridlock in the area. Normally it's the local authority who instructs the schools to close. Given the forecast they weren't going to not close just in case it turned out to be a damp squib.
