That RM would have had a blinding flash of inspiration to change some the things that he was doing which led to the dreadful results and patterns of play we were witnessing? Sorry, don’t buy it…there was a definite change and it coincided with Calderwoods introduction. Let's hope Bayern Munich don't snap him up. 1

I think what he is saying is that Calderwood only was announced at the end of October but the turnaround in form started over a month before, six games unbeaten, four wins. I know we love a bit of myth making on this forum but I think it would be a good idea to avoid pretending we were terrible and useless before Colin Calderwood turned up because it isn't true. 2

I wasn’t really saying we were terrible and useless, although I may have perhaps over stated the case admittedly. My point was that Calderwood has most definitely had a positive impact since his arrival and I stand by that. 1

Miltonaggro Posted 6 December, 2023 Author Posted 6 December, 2023 Really solid pedigree Calderwood, and by all accounts a good bloke, fair play to Russell Martin in terms of judgement. Looks like we have round pegs in round holes on the coaching staff for the first time in years. 3

Look on the bright side, that's two Candy Crush subscriptions that the club doesn't have to pay for. 8

The "coaching team " has a lot of experience between them, and I don't think RM picks the team on his own, but he will carry the can if things " go pear-shaped".
saint lard Posted 9 December, 2023 Posted 9 December, 2023 I think he’s made a world of difference. inspired decision to bring him in. (this will come back and bite me on the arse) 1

(this will come back and bite me on the arse) I don't think we even have to wait for the next game. If you can't see the improvement in our defending recently that's on you. I would like Colin to have a word in Manning's ear though, and tell him to be 2ft closer to the attacker; we'd have far fewer dangerous crosses coming into our box.
bpsaint Posted 29 December, 2023 Posted 29 December, 2023 The addition of Calderwood to our coaching team could well prove the best signing we’ve made this season. Essentially “another” clean sheet for our defence today. There’s no doubt they’re looking incredibly well drilled of late.
