Doesn’t bust a gut or do anything at speed, awful player, we would be much better side with more tempo if he wasn’t involved, never passes to a players correct foot either

He’s a horrible player. Slow, ponderous, safe, can’t run, can’t tackle. Basically everything you don’t want in a midfielder.

Booked too now. I know he's the current academy poster boy but I'd choose Downes, Charles, Stu, and Alcaraz before I picked Smallbone. Obviously a Martin favourite. I know he's scored a couple of goals recently but that's no more than the others should be doing given a chance. Passing is decent but that's not quite enough for me. I still hope he can come good though but he's nearly 24, not a youngster.

I don't think Smallbone has been terrible. It's just a midfield 3 of Charles, Downes and Smallbone is destined to be dour. Then on the few times we get the ball forward, it ends up with Arma and the move breaks down. Edozie and KWP are the only 2 with any creativity. That said, we have been decent defensively, we just don't look like scoring
