obelisk Posted 21 October, 2023 Posted 21 October, 2023 Ref is giving them everything. So one-sided it's crazy.
lambtiss Posted 21 October, 2023 Posted 21 October, 2023 Hull have outplayed us in this half. Our supposed possession style has not worked at all. 4
Saint Matty 76 Posted 21 October, 2023 Posted 21 October, 2023 Whilst Manning is really poor, the even worse reality is that it’ll probably be Holgate in for him with KWP switching to the left for Preston. 3

Mr X Posted 21 October, 2023 Posted 21 October, 2023 Hull seem much quicker to the ball and more switched on than us in general 3
Saint NL Posted 21 October, 2023 Posted 21 October, 2023 Would be interested to see how many touches our front three have had, can't be many

AlexLaw76 Posted 21 October, 2023 Posted 21 October, 2023 Alcaraz has to come off at HT (for Adams) Our patterns of play offer almost nothing up top 1

Block41 Saint Posted 21 October, 2023 Posted 21 October, 2023 Sulemana finally does something, KWP unlucky.
Saint NL Posted 21 October, 2023 Posted 21 October, 2023 Close, finally Sulemana gets involved and he creates something

sydney_saint Posted 21 October, 2023 Posted 21 October, 2023 I get trying to get a style of football that would work in the prem. There's no point playing a hoofball and going up if we get demolished. I would happily give up a season to do that. But does anyone see this style working in the prem? It's just awful, it's not original, it's not challenging to play against. There is a reason it has never resulted in a team getting promoted. 4
Saint Matty 76 Posted 21 October, 2023 Posted 21 October, 2023 Another shit half where we look no better than midtable Championship opposition, in fact I’d say we looked worse. KWP the only positive. Need to get Sulemana involved more and really disappointed with Alcaraz yet again. The experiment with him up top is not working for me. Che the obvious change. 2

NewYorkSaint Posted 21 October, 2023 Posted 21 October, 2023 There have been enough flashes of brilliance, mostly involving Sulemana, to give me hope. They're definitely being 'brave'! 3

die Mannyschaft Posted 21 October, 2023 Posted 21 October, 2023 It's boring. Passive, negative football. I struggle to stay awake ar SMS so I can't see how the Saints players can pickup the pace or be more attacking and faster if they needed when 2 one 1 down or 1 down, 2 down. Its almost that we start the game with a draw or don't let 2 in mentality. The team is completely unbalanced some players 8/10 some 3/10. Its better to have players at allotment same level. 5
Bad Wolf Posted 21 October, 2023 Posted 21 October, 2023 No longer above Swansea. We ARE however only one point off Leeds who's manager can do no wrong. 2
sydney_saint Posted 21 October, 2023 Posted 21 October, 2023 Did our captain touch the ball that half?
saintant Posted 21 October, 2023 Posted 21 October, 2023 More silky stuff from the RM playbook of total football. Imagine how good it will be if he ever actually succeeds in coaching them how he wants them to play - it'll never happen of course. 1
LGTL Posted 21 October, 2023 Posted 21 October, 2023 Fucking abysmal. Manning is horrific, thank god he’s suspended next game. Shame it’s not for the remainder of the season. Makes our propaganda evening look even more pathetic. 3
Bad Wolf Posted 21 October, 2023 Posted 21 October, 2023 It's not been anywhere near as bad as everyone's making it out to be. It's been...Alright. 1 1
Harry_SFC Posted 21 October, 2023 Posted 21 October, 2023 This is our default performance these days. It's just so sloppy and lacklustre. Tactical masterclass my arse. 1
obelisk Posted 21 October, 2023 Posted 21 October, 2023 Sorry but this dreadful. Opponents just know how to counter this crab like stuff by now. Endlessly losing the ball in our own half won't help to win games. Even when Saints get upfield there doesn't seem to be much confidence or any plan. 4

Bewildered Posted 21 October, 2023 Posted 21 October, 2023 Highlight of the half was manning getting a 5th booking, ensuring he can't play the next game. Nothing going forward bar a couple of instances of individual skill, midfield pedestrian and sloppy in possession and defense playing themselves into trouble any chance they get, a typical saints performance. 1
Mr X Posted 21 October, 2023 Posted 21 October, 2023 We are there for the taking and hull know it, need to raise our game
Andy Hill Posted 21 October, 2023 Posted 21 October, 2023 If we go 2-1 down then it is game over with our mentality.

It's been average IMO. Thing is, if we win, it'll have "papered over the cracks" or something. 2

Genuinely don't think Pellegrino would be doing any worse than Martin if I'm honest. 1

I have family and friends who are Leeds season tickets holders and they are a tad more frustrated and angry with their Board and manager than our passive masses. 1

The Kraken Posted 21 October, 2023 Posted 21 October, 2023 Fair play to Bad Wolf, absolutely storming the straw man bingo this week. 2 2
Sheaf Saint Posted 21 October, 2023 Posted 21 October, 2023 Seeing as the players are evidently being coached to just pass it around aimlessly in our own half, maybe need to bring on Archimedes to liven things up going forward... 3

RM is attempting to coach possession based football yet, rather than building play in a measured way we are reliant on a couple of instances of individual skill. Something not working unless I'm missing something. Still, we're promised that eventually it will suddenly just click into gear - not under RM and his coaches it won't. 2
