I don’t know what propaganda football is. RM has always played the same the way as a manager. He was hired to play that way and is trying to deliver it. Yes, the last 2 weeks of football have been awful. Remains to be seen if that’s a blip that will be forgotten pretty quickly or not. But the animosity on here is OTT. I get it’s a spill over from how bad we’ve been for the last 2 seasons. But that isn’t RM’s fault.

It's what we're seeing. It's a Strachan term for possession football with no obvious plan for what to do with all the possession. It's really not the last 2 weeks, and the talk of spill over is really tiresome, and simply wrong. RM has had long enough to put his stamp on things. If his way was good enough, and he was coaching it properly, and the players were buying it, we'd be doing well. At least one of those ingredients is missing.

We won’t win today.

Optimistically we’ll get a 1-1 score line, Adams with a scrappy goal.

Lots of possession, lots of passes, but not three points; alongside a post match interview from Russell Martin about how much of a solid performance it was. 💪🏻

That hasn’t been the case though. Prior to Sunderland we were creating chances and scoring. Obviously confidence has drained following that. As I said. remains to be seen if it’s a blip or not. But rubbishing everything about the season and RM is not proportionate IMO.

Or that teams had seen us a for a few games and aset up accordingly.

Looks like another day for hiding behind the sofa. One thing's for sure we aren't going to get a miraculous transformation from Tuesday night. This will likely be a back's to the wall gritty determination type of performance from Saints rather than Martin's mythical total football, that's if any of our players care enough and are up for it.

Personally I think that a disjointed and bizarrely selected group of players will do their usual bottle job of failing to score and making their usual quota of enforced errors at the back to encourage Boro to have a field day. 0-3 for me, could be more.

I've just watched half of RMs press conference for this game, I have no fucking idea what the hell he was talking about, not a clue.

He says we need to ‘get back on track’ but most of us can see that we only appear to have been ‘on track’ in one half of football this season - first game against Sheffield weds with Tella and Prowse pulling strings. Martin looks like a man under pressure attempting to wing it.

We have to get at least a point, otherwise just confirms teams can predict Saints with ease and possession football won't work in championship.

Think the last three or four games has already proved that

Lets see what random team selection we have today.

Absolutely unbelievable that this is happening again. Regardless what we think of his suitability to the role I thought we had employed someone with some defined principles that you could rely on to broadly guess the team every week.

7 games in and he's yet another bloody tombola manager.

Oh dear, Ange Posta or any other great Man Manager he is not.

I know we are only at the end of September, and it would be fantastic if he could turn this around for him the club and for us the fans.

I just can’t help feeling this is only going one way again.

Even my 17 year old lad that plays step 5 says he would find it difficult to play for our last 3 managers.

Thats step 5 and he’s a Gashead for f!&k sake.  What are we doing, as I said I would love today to be a turning point. Not being glass half empty but I just can’t see it.

He could arguably plead a bit of mitigation with injuries since the QPR game - however if he doesn’t start with THB, Bednarek at CB and Charles, Downes at CM today then he can leave.

Pick the right players in their best positions and I think we will win today, but I don’t know what that tells us other than we are better than the worst team in the league.

Good luck to all the brave fans that have travelled today. Hopefully the manager has been really brave with his tactics and team selection, and they lads on the pitch are really brave with their play, and show great bravery to play pass the parcel with the ball, and are brave enough to try and put the ball in the net.

Fuck knows how this is going to go, either a 3-1 win or a 3-1 loss. Maybe today is the day it clicks and we win 6-0.

He might be saying some of the right things (plus some deluded things too), but his body language says it all. He's showing all the signs of feeling the pressure and to be honest it looks like the wheels are starting to come off already.

He needs a plan B but only has a Janny B

We're not gonna have to go through the whole season with AArmstrong unstoppable and Edozie and Sulemana being dropped over and over? Surely?

Expand

Agree but the only thing armstrong does massively better is track back and defend and given our latest games I'm ok with us having a more solid middle and 2 wingers who track back at least.

I'm really liking the look of the line up. Looks to me like it's Holgate at RB and KWP at LB. Very solid midfield three and Adam Armstrong, Adams and Fraser as the front three. COYR :)

Assume Armstrong will play every game if fit. Glad someone other than Manning is playing. Also glad Charles and Downes are in midfield. I wouldn't have picked Fraser or smallbone but overall not awful.

At RB no doubt. Loads of people have been laying into Manning saying he should be dropped. Martin does that and then people moan.

Who do you want at RB? James Bree?

he's playing RB with KWP on the left

Bit harsh to go all in on him after his poor debut - reckon he can do the job at RB today and will bring much needed height on 1 flank at least, will be more conservative going forward so I expect our entire team to be much much more solid, then we bring on edozie and sulemana at 70mins to destroy the boro team.
