Fuck me. No one apart from Pompey cares about us enough to laugh, and it's not like we've lost every game is it?

I've had texts from lads of 4 different clubs joking about how bad we were tonight, they might not care but still not missing the opportunity to take the piss

It’s easy to talk about it being another shambles, which it was, and that Martin needs to go, which ain’t going to happen.

What strikes me is that most of this is coming from ONE suicidal tactical stupidity.

We have pace and trickery on both flanks up front. There is absolutely no need - and little to be gained - by gung-hoing the FBs up there every time – especially Manning, who can’t get back.

All that does is destroy our defensive shape and make us completely vulnerable to the counter.

I really don’t think it’s a case of everything is going to shit. I think it’s a matter of one crazy, destructive element of Martin’s approach. He needs to ditch it right fucking now.

Horrible reminders of when mad nate had the whole world cup to get things right and first game back you realise it is all going to be one long disaster

I said today that this could be a harbinger of things to come. Ominous that we don't seem to have done anything differently. We could have had another goal or two but they could have had another four.

The tactics are ridiculous. Can Martin make some fundamental changes as we absolutely have enough players to do well in this league. If he can't then this will keep happening until he gets sacked.

I mean, he's had time to make some changes. The warning signs were there since Norwich at home...

What really pisses me off if we'd actually managed to get some positivity back over the summer, ticket sales were very strong, we'd sold big numbers for away games and it felt like momentum could swing back in our favour. That's been completely destroyed , I sense the fans are ready to turn on the manager and players as its so fucking bad.

I'm usually one of the most positive forum members... What is there to be positive about at the moment, pray tell?

As I replied elsewhere some irony in that post. That said I think at present the fan expectations are perhaps a little unrealistic and comments on here are knee jerk angry when it doesn’t go right which gets a tad tiresome. I find it amazing that people think we’ll piss this league, clearly after the last two games we won’t. Early days still, long season and all that. Signs aren’t great, but I’ll write of the season if we’re just as bad in November not now.

The good thing about watching on Sky is that you can turn it off,as I did at half time. The way we defend, I doubt whether we will keep a clean sheet all season. The manager was a defender ffs,do they just play attack versus defenders who attack in training, never ever seen a worse defence in 60 years. Cannot see RM and JW being here much longer. Very, very disillusioned and worried where we might be at the end of the season, what a total and utter shambles of a club.

As an aside there  must be a manager some where who can set us up defensively to be solid with the players we have, Harewood Bellis was arguably the best centre half in the championship last year under Kompany.

Did you miss us trying to play out from the back and giving them a 2 goal lead?

The brutal truth is we were very lucky to get out of there losing only four.  It was a woeful inept performance at any level.  Leicester created much better chances than us and with a little more composure could well of scored 3 or 4 more, we were that bad,.

At least we all know now that there is no way in hell we'll be in the promotion teams, mid table mediocrity is the best this lot are going to deliver.

I don't buy that the players aren't good enough. It's entirely the tactics, it's confused, error strewn and amateurish.

I said on the way back after the game, its like watching a sunday leauge side with no coaching trying to play out from the back.

No real sense of direction, no plan, no confidence on the ball.

Should have been 6 or 7.

and quite possibly more tbf.............dont know what we do from here, promotion long way off on these appauling performances id say we will be lucky to see top 15.To be honest ,i thought we looked amazing away at newly promoted Weds, what given the fact it was their big opening night fixture ,then i was looking forward to Norwich and thought hang on we were lucky to get a point .Gritty performance away to Plymouth, and hey things are going to be ok ish.But the last 2 games bought back  home the lack of quality and leadership the team sadly lacks ,and the ease of which the opposition can break through our press and seemingly score at will.Team selection is also a big concern. Were not a big physical unit that can win the ball back, but so far the team selections have been disappointing. Look the manager cant help what unfolds on the pitch from individual errors, but they have a responsibility to coach the team for better game management and scenarios.

This.

We are such an easy read for any half-decent team. High press to win the ball from us trying to play the ball from the back with defenders who aren't good enough on the ball and no midfield. 0- 1 after 21 secs, 0-2 after 18 minutes doing it again for good measure. A goal back from their mistake, then it could have been a hatful for them. We are slow in possession and end up trying to 'pick the lock' of packed defences without the players to do it...give the ball away and leave ourselves open to the break.

So now we know for certain - we are nowhere near good enough for automatic promotion - we'll be lucky to make top six.

And that's assuming this pony can learn a second trick...

We are trying to be to clever and not do the basics. Its no more complicated than this.

Exactly. RM seems to insist that we play like Man City. It's never going to happen. Get the basics right and stop trying to be so frigging clever.

It was worse. Far worse. I cannot believe we’ve fucked up yet again. I was worried we had when we appointed him. I was approx 90% sure we had after Sunderland. Now I 100 % know we have. Just get this nice but useless manager gone. Now.

I don't know why we make this so hard. If you look at our managers over the last decade, the ones that looked on the surface were generally good, and those that looked bad were shocking

Pardew- looked good and was good

Adkins- looked good and was good

Poch- arguably the outlier, was a gamble but at least he did have a good reputation

Koeman- looked good and was good

Puel- looked okay and was okay

Pellegrino- looked bad and was bad

Hughes- looked bad and was bad

Ralph- looked good and was good (even if it did go stale)

Jones - looked awful and was awful

Selles- looked awful and was awful

Martin- looked bad and so far looks bad.

No, not at all. We know that's a vulnerability and that shit will happen, but to me it's how we need to play. The first one, I think, was an unlucky deflection but it turned us into a bag of nerves.

What's the alternative - whacking it every time?

There's a good side in us, but not playing the way we are right now.

People  are leaving, this is very poor and surely SR are taking note

SR are the cause of this by buying mainly young and inexperienced players but unlucky with injuries to both Stephens and Bednerak.

Only KWP would stand out in our last promotion team the rest would have never got near it

Do the basics right..win the 1st ball... if in doubt put it out... follow your man not the ball... the pretty shit follows.

The big one for me is we are following the ball not the man... this is playground stuff.

I wonder what Newcastle fans said after Howe's first 10 games there. He had a 10% win ratio...

Did he have any 5-0 or 4-1 defeats? Not to mention we're in the second tier. The team needs time but the last two games have been worrying to say the least

To be honest mavividi should have scored four tonight. We should have lost by 8/9 no joke it was that bad. We aren't even creating anything. The whole system is failing and forcing players into mistakes. KWP and Manning positions are a huge problem

I'd be starting Holgate at RB next game.
