saintant Posted 2 September, 2023 Posted 2 September, 2023 Seeing far too many of the problems from last season today. We are physically far too weak all over the pitch. Midfield is non existent - not winning challenges and second balls. 1
Saint Fan CaM Posted 2 September, 2023 Posted 2 September, 2023 Oh goody - Aribo on. We’re going for the 4-0.
redandwhitey Posted 2 September, 2023 Posted 2 September, 2023 Perhaps these three points were part of the transfer fee ?? 2
Holmes_and_Watson Posted 2 September, 2023 Posted 2 September, 2023 Bringing on Impact Joe at the right time. 🙂

obelisk Posted 2 September, 2023 Posted 2 September, 2023 Saints have had chances and there's another one put wide.

Hopefully he learns quickly At half time I watched the replay for their first goal, at the point of the ball being thumped up the pitch following our corner, their attacker was level with our last defender, and anyone else was around 10-20 years upfield. Just hideously naive defending. We press high but once we turn it over just retreat back to our box and it’s so easy for them to cut through us. No defensive solidity in midfield, full backs trapped up the outch, everyone else panicking to try and get back. 4
Saint NL Posted 2 September, 2023 Posted 2 September, 2023 We sit 5th in the table with a negative goal difference. Big improvement needed over the break 2

lambtiss Posted 2 September, 2023 Posted 2 September, 2023 Tippy tappy nothing football followed by two Sunderland passes splitting our entire midfield and defence. Rinse and repeat. That's on the manager 6

East Kent Saint Posted 2 September, 2023 Posted 2 September, 2023 68% possession 2 shots on target while they have had ,so far ,8 shots on target and 4 goals ! 1

By that I'm not panicking after a game like this. But longer term, his tactical approach has to be flexible enough to handle various teams and situations, as we're not going to always have it our own way. How we adapt and react to that, wihin his framework, will be key. We were found out today, and repeated the same errors for a lot of the game, while also failing to impose any of the good things Martin is trying to put into place. We all watched what happened under Ralph, where all the good things were unpicked when other teams adjusted to his approach and beat it. Our current coaches will have to learn how to prevent the recurring errors. 1

Chez Posted 2 September, 2023 Posted 2 September, 2023 they could have easily scored there...and there....

Saint Fan CaM Posted 2 September, 2023 Posted 2 September, 2023 I just don’t understand how they are so much better drilled than we are. They have had so much more space to break into. Alcarez on. Might I suggest it’s a bit late?
OttawaSaint Posted 2 September, 2023 Posted 2 September, 2023 What a mess, KWP at inside left then we naturally give ball away and they put it into the vacant sides where KWP is supposed to be. They make a hash of it but not before Shitnarek tried to give them the ball with his patented stretching powderpuff flubbed clearance.
Saint NL Posted 2 September, 2023 Posted 2 September, 2023 They're taking the piss and bringing on school kids 🤣
SonicBoom Posted 2 September, 2023 Posted 2 September, 2023 Defending is utterly embarrassing. Bednarek scuffs a clearance from which they should score again. What the hell have they been doing all week.
Saint Matty 76 Posted 2 September, 2023 Posted 2 September, 2023 Alcaraz shouldn't be dropped again even though I'm fully aware he was shit vs QPR. He's one of our only players with a constant real desire to attack, and poses a real threat. 2
