Sheaf Saint Posted 2 September, 2023 Posted 2 September, 2023 Sunderland keeper fucks up royally and gets away with it.
OttawaSaint Posted 2 September, 2023 Posted 2 September, 2023 Holgate misses wide open header. Shocking display 😂 😂 😂 1

The Kraken Posted 2 September, 2023 Posted 2 September, 2023 So Holgate has got a 50p head too. Great signing. 1
Holmes_and_Watson Posted 2 September, 2023 Posted 2 September, 2023 Fraser getting it in far, far more directly than any of the others. Game well gone though, sadly.
LaptopSaint Posted 2 September, 2023 Posted 2 September, 2023 Gonna be an exciting season. No more drab 0-0s 🤣
James Posted 2 September, 2023 Posted 2 September, 2023 Mara is also shite. Unbelievable he is still on. 6
OttawaSaint Posted 2 September, 2023 Posted 2 September, 2023 Fuck this, changing my Colgate for Crest. Don't want to end up with shit breath... 2

BotleySaint Posted 2 September, 2023 Posted 2 September, 2023 (edited) Honestly, Russel Martins managerial record is nothing special. Nothing to suggest he'd do well here. Early days but should we be that surprised if this continues? Edited 2 September, 2023 by BotleySaint 2 1
Saint Fan CaM Posted 2 September, 2023 Posted 2 September, 2023 Mara trying hard to impersonate a striker. And failing hard.
Holmes_and_Watson Posted 2 September, 2023 Posted 2 September, 2023 Annoying: When players recieve the ball in space and duck out of looking forward. Smallbone there, and there were a few in the first half. Allosw the opposition all the time they need to reset. 1
adrian lord Posted 2 September, 2023 Posted 2 September, 2023 What were people saying, lauding the window?
LGTL Posted 2 September, 2023 Posted 2 September, 2023 I’d send Holgate back after that display. Not even joking, he’d be gone tonight. 5
sydney_saint Posted 2 September, 2023 Posted 2 September, 2023 The issue with a project manager like Martin is that there is no real track record of success for us to hold on to. If you look at Spurs with Ange, yes he hasn't managed at that level before, but he's got a track record of implementing a style of play and delivering success. Martin doesn't have that, so it's hard to know whether we are just going to end up a team that passes the ball around and go nowhere with it, or end up with a fluid sucessful style. At the moment the signs are a tad worrying 1
ButtikonSaint Posted 2 September, 2023 Posted 2 September, 2023 From experience, a once in a while good spanking works wonders with the wife (and kids) Maybe they need that too... 1
OttawaSaint Posted 2 September, 2023 Posted 2 September, 2023 Holgate subbed, now take him out back and shoot him. 4 3
Convict Colony Posted 2 September, 2023 Posted 2 September, 2023 our midfielders currently thankful for the defence and goalie for coping all the shit from today but I am sorry they have been fucking awful. 3
Saint_clark Posted 2 September, 2023 Posted 2 September, 2023 Harwood-Bellis looked pissed off there with Charles coming in at CB ahead of him. 2
Saint Matty 76 Posted 2 September, 2023 Posted 2 September, 2023 RM has to take the entirety of the blame for starting Holgate over Charles at CB today. And for whatever part he played in bringing him here, fucking terrible. 3
Sheaf Saint Posted 2 September, 2023 Posted 2 September, 2023 Holgate taken off at last. Up there with the worst debuts in history. Never saw that coming 😐 1
Saint NL Posted 2 September, 2023 Posted 2 September, 2023 Going 5 at the back once you're 4-0 down is an exciting move 🤣
SNSUN Posted 2 September, 2023 Posted 2 September, 2023 Sunderland could get their revenge for the 8-0 if we keep being shit.

Saint_clark Posted 2 September, 2023 Posted 2 September, 2023 How was that offside????? It was cleared by the defender!!!! 1
obelisk Posted 2 September, 2023 Posted 2 September, 2023 Fraser given offside even when a Sunderland player last played the ball. One of those days.

OttawaSaint Posted 2 September, 2023 Posted 2 September, 2023 So is this what it is? ANOTHER stubborn manager who will refuse to learn and be system before players rather than finding a formation and system that suits who we have. You can't have Janny B and Massy H passing in their own box. 3
Convict Colony Posted 2 September, 2023 Posted 2 September, 2023 What did Martin say after we conceded 4 v Norwich - If downes was there we wouldnt of conceded 4. 2
trousers Posted 2 September, 2023 Posted 2 September, 2023 We were never going to go the whole season without a 'bad day at the office' here and there. The trouble with Saints historically though is that bad days often turn into bad weeks/months. Here's hoping this is a one off rather than the start of a trend.... 4

Martin will have to step up to achieve this as, as you say he just doens't have that track record. This is an excellent chance for him to step up to that level. He did say there were going to be off days, and this is definietely one of them. We will get better. But we can all see how Sunderland have dismantled his set up. Everyone will be lookign to do that. And he will have to adapt accordingly. 2

Chris cooper Posted 2 September, 2023 Posted 2 September, 2023 This is on Martin … complete ignores the art of defending especially in this league.. he was the same at mk dons and swansea.. t we shouldn’t be so high up the field when we get turned around it’s basic !! Hopefully he learns quickly 2
Saint NL Posted 2 September, 2023 Posted 2 September, 2023 Samedo just casually strolling around while 4 defenders stand there and watch....
