Fourth goal comes from fullback being overload down our right hand side. Mara can't get back to help out. They could easily have scored from first chance, he should have buried it. Decent enough save but Holgate fucks the clearance. I was in the middle of typing about how uncomfortable he looked with the ball. He's not having a good day at all.

This is typical and expected for Saints, you all know this. This is to keep our feet on the ground and not get all Billy big bollocks in this league. Can't have us getting our hopes up too far, that isn't the Saints way! 😉

Conceding 4 twice in the first 5 games. Jesus wept.

If Martin doesn't sort that out then he'll be gone.

Commentators in floods of tears over the defender...if he was that badly hurt they wouldn't be twisting and pulling his leg about ffs.

At least he put his body on the line, our fairies would have let him shoot.

Important two weeks coming up for RM to establish our best 11 ahead of some really tough fixtures.

Players like Holgate and Mara can't be anywhere near. I'd say Bazunu too but we all know that's not happening.

I think Smallbone has been shit too.

Another Bazunu parry back into the danger area or a decent initial save?

He was central, and well palced for the incoming header. It wasn;t powered past him, and it was a comfortable height. He didn;t parry it right back into play, but got an angle on it. It wasn;t one he could really have parried away at an acute angle. But that, and the lack of power in his clearance made it easier for them to get the ball back in. So many other blunders in that one from others, I'd feel harsh in being too critical.

If Holgate got hooked at half time, you'd struggle to see how he gets back in the team. I understand why RM kept him on, but it's blown up in his face

Got to wonder what Carlo Ancelotti saw in him.

He only got the game time he did under Ancellotti due to an injury to Yerry Mina. He was very poor during that spell but CA had no other options.

We are not finishing top two with this amount of goals conceded.

Not a chance we will trouble the top 2 if we are liable to get hammered like this. Last time we went up we were basically in every game.

We may finish bottom two though so that will be an achievement 😉

Why the fuck , would you make Adam Armstrong captain? Another baffling decision in a a day of them.

what difference does it make who does the coin toss and wears the armband? The coach basically captains the side these days.

Holgate is utter crap

the worry is, this is our first real test in this league, and we are being taken apart

Yep and with more real tests to come over the next few weeks. If we carry on looking this disgustingly shit then questions will quite rightly have to be asked of RM. Right now this feels like it could be a hat-rick of piss poor managerial appointments.

Martin's passing game is compeltely absent, with Sunderland winning a lot in the middle.

We just did something a lot more direct, and Adams wasn;t far from getting on the end of it.
