Ryan Fraser

He was just what I remembered him to be at Bournemouth, quick, direct, nippy - an absolute pain in the backside to defend against. He impacted the game as soon as he came on.

I've never been quite sure why fans have been so down on him.

Yep, game changer

Saves me having to post "game changer". D'Oh! 🙂

His directness immedaitely on coming on turned made all the difference today. Can only look forward to not only more of that, but the others working with his capabilities and knowing the spaces they can move into, to get on the end of things/ create chances for themselves.

Excellent start, affected them game, injected some much needed directness and looked up for it. The thing I like about him is the way he demands the ball & the runs he makes make it easy to pick him out. Obviously too early to get too excited but from that short glimpse he could be a real asset.

Think it was you that said he'd be a refreshing change from some of the 'mincing' we do on the wing, and he was exactly that. Good old fashioned wing play which seems to be pretty important in this RM system

  • Lighthouse changed the title to Ryan Fraser

Spoke to my Bournemouth supporting pal last night and he reckons he'll be one of the best wingers in the league.

He said he turned into a bit of a billy big bollocks for them and downed tools, but when his head is right he can be really good.

Was very impressed when he came on yesterday, and that’s coming from a self-confessed miserable old bastard.

In hindsight he probably should have started instead of the young nipper. Will become a regular starter IMO and I’ve no problem with that.

Possibly not fully match fit. Just a thought.

Should do next week, hopefully wanting to put one over Sunderland as well

One of the crosses he put in yesterday was superb, no one on his wavelength at all

I think it was his first cross, right into that 'corridor of uncertainty' as commentators like to call it.

A natural striker would have been sniffing in that area, but we didn't have any natural strikers out there who anticipate those sort of things. Hopefully we see that in the door in the next few days.

Or new signing according to RM

Perhaps yeah, Frazrr allows the new RW to settle.

Personally fantastic at this level and will only improve. I imagine the club are going to target a younger player, someone of Oscar Bobbs level if we can.

Looked a class above when he came on,  but we need players to get onto his end product,  hopefully they will learn quickly that he can deliver.   Could really be a big part of the project both off and on the field,  great start.

great to finally have someone that can cross a ball from the left. It's been abysmal for several seasons.

Funnily enough, it's the delivery's that Arma has been crying out whilst playing as the 9. He's been making the runs, no one has picked him out.

all strikers at the cub will be pleased to see some balls coming in rather than being blocked at source.

Trying not to get ahead of myself here but i have to admit Ryan Fraser didn’t take long yesterday to convince me he’s going to be a  great signing. I had my doubts about lack of game time, attitude, motivation at this level and big wages.

Obviously we need to see him deliver for us on a regular basis but the early signs are that he actually improves the starting 11, rather than is a useful squad player. Very happy to have my concerns proven wrong, long may that continue. Holgate hasn’t kicked a ball yet but I’m trusting he might do the same.

Championship clubs signed some quality players on loan in the 2022 summer window. Nathan Tella, Amad Diallo, Ian Maatsen, Cameron Archer, Harwood-Bellis, James McAtee and the two Doyles.

We got this hobbit and Mason Holgate. WTF.

He was decent when he came on for his debut, but has contributed absolutely nothing since.

Sam A-A is the better option, I can understand that Martin wants a bit of experience but Fraser offers nothing.

He wasn’t even very bad. Should’ve had an assist today with the only bit of sense in the box to pull the ball back.

His cameo vs QPR made me question my initial negativity on this loan signing

Yep, agree. He looked like a missing piece of the jigsaw in his debut... That elusive link-up player between midfield and attack. But he's looked pretty ordinary and ineffectual ever since... maybe Martin didn't like how direct he was in his debut and knocked that trait out of him sharpish... ;)

I really thought he'd come good as with all the baggage surrounding him he had something to prove. Hasn't worked out like that yet.

I dont understand why Sam AA has vanished from site. He's gotta be a better option off the bench than the Chuckle brothers pairing of Aribo and Mara.

i quite like him. his final ball into the box is miles better than sulemana an edozie and hopefully limpy ross will benefit.

his attitude has stunk two places out,now hes moved on to us,other than the qpr game has offered next to nothing

It has but to play devils advocate both of those instances have involved the same manager so it’s not necessarily all on Fraser.

SAA looked pretty hopeless against a none too special QPR team. He hasn’t ‘gotta’ be anything at all, I don’t know where the idea comes from that anything else must be better than what we’ve got not.

Sorry for expressing an opinion, aside from the fact you have mentioned his full debut rather than sub appearances as I stated the idea comes from the fact those two are fkin useless !!!

It was a high quality finish from RF. He did well to control the shot because it would have been easy to slash at the ball and send it over the bar.

What would Che have done with the same  opportunity  -

A) Air Kick

B) Shinned It

C) Hit Row Z

D) Winded the keeper
