Suhari Posted 26 August, 2023 Posted 26 August, 2023 Trying some neat through balls. Not quite getting it right.
Saint NL Posted 26 August, 2023 Posted 26 August, 2023 Alcarez is wearing a woody from toy story t-shirt under his shirt 🤣🤣
saintant Posted 26 August, 2023 Posted 26 August, 2023 One way traffic isn't it and not in the right direction.

trousers Posted 26 August, 2023 Posted 26 August, 2023 Downes looking more like JWP than JWP so far... #sideways #backwards
AlexLaw76 Posted 26 August, 2023 Posted 26 August, 2023 This is not particularly good. Neither was the 1st half last week. Alcaraz not been good, SAA ineffective. Edozie poor but got a goal (that the keeper should have done better with). 2nd half last week we were far quicker with the ball going forward, which we kind of need to do here... Meh

Saint_clark Posted 26 August, 2023 Posted 26 August, 2023 Has any team gone an entire season without a single clean sheet?

obelisk Posted 26 August, 2023 Posted 26 August, 2023 Have to hope for another 2nd half improvement from Saints. QPR look like they could score at will on the break though.

Baird of the land Posted 26 August, 2023 Posted 26 August, 2023 Qpr have looked more threatening imo despite our reams of possession Alcaraz really poor. SAA, completely anonymous. Showing why he should be restricted to cameos for now. Edozie is definitely winning his match up against their right back. Still think he shouldn't be a regular starter in a team aiming for promotion. He can dribble & It was nice piece of movement (but It was a bad shot) and his crossing is still diabolically bad.
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 26 August, 2023 Posted 26 August, 2023 We've literally no physicality or presence up top. Take Amo-Ameyaw off, stick Adarma wide & we'll have to make do with Aribo up top. If that's not a wake up call to buy a forward, I don't know what is. The QPR forward would do.
Saint NL Posted 26 August, 2023 Posted 26 August, 2023 Feels like groundhog Day. You could put the comments from pretty much any game this season and it'd be the same. Slow, ponderous football, finally score and then immediately switch off. The main positive is that we normally score late on so there's that to look forward to. Charles looks good in CB, Bazunu has been alright, Edozie has been lively and got his goal, not a huge amount of positives elsewhere.

Give me Perraud or even Larios.

Bewildered Posted 26 August, 2023 Posted 26 August, 2023 Tedious to watch, QPR happy to sit back and counter and we are making it too easy for them to do it. We'll lose if we play that badly second half. 1
disconnect Posted 26 August, 2023 Posted 26 August, 2023 Where is Perraud? Far better than Manning on the 3 or 4 games played

obelisk Posted 26 August, 2023 Posted 26 August, 2023 Saints with more (ponderous) possession but with fewer shots.
Saint NL Posted 26 August, 2023 Posted 26 August, 2023 (edited) Interesting stat at half time, QPR won 91% of their tackles, we only had 60% Aerial duels won, saints had 16% to qprs 60-something % 👀 Edited 26 August, 2023 by Saint NL

Disco Stu Posted 26 August, 2023 Posted 26 August, 2023 (edited) This performance is what's to be expected when you sell the two players that were actually scoring for us. No physicality up front at all and very ponderous in midfield. Edited 26 August, 2023 by Disco Stu 1
saintant Posted 26 August, 2023 Posted 26 August, 2023 We need to somehow eke a win out of this game and then do some decent business in the final days of the transfer window because the current squad will not be troubling the top 2 and maybe not the top 6 either. 1

Dr Who? Posted 26 August, 2023 Posted 26 August, 2023 Saints need to realise that ‘you are at your most vulnerable just after scoring’ is a saying not a command! 1 3
The Cat Posted 26 August, 2023 Posted 26 August, 2023 At the very least this score means that no one will end up mentally scarred by having to witness me streak across the pitch at full time. 1

Saint Fan CaM Posted 26 August, 2023 Posted 26 August, 2023 76.4% possession and it’s 1-1 with QPR having one more shot in target than us. Consistently having THAT stat is going to kill any semblance of a decent season. Massive week of work needed from Wilcox. 1

Overall our attacking was too slow and as the cliche goes, "not enough bodies in the box", but Ido not think it was poor, at least going forward. Our defending, on the other hand, might be described as "needs improvement". 1

saintant Posted 26 August, 2023 Posted 26 August, 2023 At the start of the week I suspect most of us thought this would be a fairly comfortable home win. 3
