Away fans

Just having a look at away allocations, and I've noticed QPR on their website have stated they've taken the full allocation of 2823. Does this mean we've reduced the away end in size? Anyone know?

I thought it was ridiculous we gave away fans last season more than the 3000 requirement so if we have reduced it, that's good news.

QPR fan I know asked me that as I'd said they'd be given 3300 (which is what we gave teams in the prem) seems there's a bit more netting now but not sure that accounts for all the lost seats.

Was expecting Norwich to bring more today, but if it becomes a regular thing to open block 43 to home fans hopefully they do that early on to give fans the choice

There's no requirement in the championship for teams to offer 3000 (or 10% of capacity if less) like there is in the Premier league.

Hopefully for once the club have listened to its own fans have now reduced the away allocation. Like you say it was ridiculous we gave more .

I also hated the fact we gave more then we had to in the FA Cup by giving away fans the whole End when the requirement is only 15% .

Just for the record the requirements for the Championship is a minimum of 2000 or 10% whichever is smaller so even now we are still giving more then we have to. But it’s a start .

it would be nice to have block 43 for Saints fans every game and just give what Norwich had to the away teams.

Millwall seem to have done that this session reducing the away allocation to 1700 (and splitting between upper and lower tier) , surprised to see them putting home fans in the same stand. Can see that being hard to get tickets when we visit

Interesting. Millwall haven't opened up that lower tier for years and years as far as I know, because being at ground level it is only a short trip across the corner of the pitch for all hell to break loose. Seems they have confidence that they have entirely emasculated their home support?

It would be good to see the club prioritise home advantage for once and keep block 43 for home fans and reduce the influence of the away support. I see we’re charging QPR fans £30 for adults, hopefully we’ve got an agreement with the teams that visit St Mary’s before we play at their ground that they’ll charge our fans the same as we have theirs.

Agree reciprocal agreements should he used, Leeds fans groups put pressure on the club to request those and seems to have worked with Cardiff.

I don't think we'll have block 43 for the QPR game as they've already sold out the "full" 2,823 allocation (will be interesting if we give them a bit more as we know that section holds more).
