Beginning a thread for SAA (which isn't transfer related from last summer) given he'll likely break through this season, and has been probably our best player in pre-season. What a brilliant talent he's looking, and for less than £1m. Got 8 goals and 5 assists last season in u21 football so end product might not yet be there, but struggle to see how any of our other wingers can keep him out.

I saw him in a few B team games last season, definitely a talent but a lot to learn still. Often guilty of not releasing the ball quickly enough, also knocked off the ball by more physical players but he'll get smarter in time. Doesn't offer much defensively in winning the ball back so need to allow for that in team selection.

Bit of a dilemma for the Club, do they keep him in the first team squad mostly on the bench or give him another year in the B Team to sharpen his skills with regular football.

I'd go for the latter personally, he has a lot to learn yet.

Bit of both.

Agree. Give him some game time for the first team to see how he acquits himself.  He looks quality and that was a superb pass he played yesterday to set up Smallbone. We are sorely lacking in creativity so maybe he can help.

He played the whole game at Gillingham, and I was amazed that he was still able to maintain that pace and intensity right into injury time. He seems to have great energy and attitude as well as an overflowing bag full of tricks and pace to spare.

Contrast his sub performance today with Mara, and consider that Sam is still only 17. Love watching him 😁

This boy is going to develop into some player. Such confidence and he's a real box of tricks. I'd have no worries about starting him but probably better coming off the bench at the moment. He won't be with us for the long haul but I'm sure, when he moves on to bigger things, we'll get a massive transfer fee for him. Love watching him.

17 years old. Wow. He's going to be a star. Feel like his time is being managed well, too.

In praising him, I don't feel the need to condemn Edozie in the same breath. Edozie had a few good moments today, too.

Yes and when we say 17 his birthday was very recently so 16 and a few days. Frightening prospect.

Completely agree.

With regards to Edozie he is much more of a frightening winger than Tella is, If he gains the same finishing confidence Tella got at Burnley we will be raving about him until he gets sold for 50+ Million.

Superb. Link up play was excellent. Always in space and kept the ball well, but even more pleasing was his cutting edge in the final third. In the right place at the right time and he just makes things happen.

ALready miles better than Edozie who really looks clueless once he's done his step overs.

For me, him and Dibling start on Saturday.  No fear from them, direct and some of Dibling's mazy runs were a thing of beauty.

Excellent game for him. I was hoping to see a lot more of him last season.

I felt as Cardiff changed it round that he faded a bit second half.

Edozie's all round game is more developed. I think we'll see a fair bit of him this season. SAA's output is a strong point though.

Put Edozie to shame for me. Does things when he gets the ball, makes things happen.

Edozie just kills the game when he gets it.

Really big fan of SAA - good pickup by Joe Shields in his short time here.

I think SAA has a far more developed game than Edozie. He's better at beating his man, finishes better and has far more of an end product. Edozie struggled tonight against a Cardiff reserve full back who he should have had on toast.
