Luton feel a bit EPL Saintsy here. They've had a bloody good go vs Utd, getting no luck, deserve more from the game but it looks like Utd will take the points and it'll all be for nothing.

Every time I watch them they seem so much better than I assume they are.  Give all the big teams a good game at home.

Is Harry Kane destined to not win anything? Bayern losing again today and leaves them 8 points behind Leverkusen with 12 games to go.

It’s going to be the first season since 1436 that Bayern don’t win anything. If he became an undertaker, people would stop dying.

It's the Leicester title winning season all over again from when he was with Spurs. He scores plenty of goals and yet an unexpected team comes out of nowhere and pips them to the title. Kane has been brilliant this season but Leverkusen under Alonso have just been better. If they do go on and win it, I'm delighted for Tella. I can picture that smile now.

Xabi Alonso is a great shout for Klopp replacement.

Er, I don't think you've been paying enough attention to this forum.

The team flying at the top of the league definitely won't win it, oh no, they will choke and collapse.

I reckon Stuttgart are nailed on to win it, they're only 12 points behind in third and that's like nothing, simple really they just need to put a run together and they'll over turn it no problem.

We were strongly linked a few years back - Sasa Kalajdzic. Wolves sent him out on loan to get some game time in Jan whilst he got up to fitness after his ACL, and he's just done his ACL again - third time now. This time it's a multiple rupture of the ACL and lateral.

He needs to retire now for the good of his life after football. I guess we dodged a bullet, but you have to feel for him as he's just lost his career.

Roy Hodgson steps down as Palace manager....with dignity (as always with Roy). Also Michael Beale sacked at Sunderland after 12 games. And Tony Mowbray temporarily stepping away at Birmingham due to health reasons.

Be amusing if Palace fancy Farke. Doubt it will happen though.

Didn't hang about

Been in the works for months, not one for conspiracy theories and all that, but Roy's hospital visit did avoid him the sack - so he could be seen to leave on his own terms.

Do Everton “fans” only make a noise when they feel aggrieved, admittedly they seem to feel that more than most. There is absolute silence most other times, even when they are having a go. Very poor - E minus

Yeah, but what about the famous Goodison atmosphere that the media mention? It must be true even though I've never experienced it when I've been there.

Everton are awful, Luton are better than them so hopefully that 10 point deduction stays in place and the two of them battle it out until the end when Luton’s penultimate last home game is……Everton !

Hopefully they decide 10 points wasn't enough and deduct them another 10.

Everton do have other charges pending, relating to the same issue. They could well end up with more than the 10 point deduction. Even if the first is reduced on appeal, they may get just as many with the second.

Apparently the second charge is more likely to get a penalty.

At least Luton are making somewhat of a fist of it, more than can be said of the other two promoted sides.

It is looking likely that the 3 who came up will be the 3 who go back down, and once again Everton will survive the flush.

Has there ever been a situation before where the 3 promoted teams go straight back down, and are replaced by the 3 relegated teams from the year before? It doesn't feel like it's a massively common scenario, but it's a genuine possibility this year.

I’m pretty sure Ipswich weren’t relegated with Leeds and Leicester last season.

I apologise to @whelk in this instance. His contribution more than adequate. I missed it. Mine superfluous.

But still, plenty of mileage left in this topic for sure.

Nothing wrong with coming second right?

The shame of it is the Championship Trophy is very pretty and dripping with history, up to when Sky invented football in 1992, which came with a “Me Too” Champions league looky likey anodyne trophy.

Hilarious people turned their nose up on here at winks. He's been excellent tonight so far.

Most of the doubts were expressed when we were in the Premiership though as I recall.

Thought he was quite impressive when they played us, but then again our performance that night probably isn’t a decent yardstick to use.
