Saints should buy Sunderland’s Jack Clarke

Watching Sunderland v Leeds at the moment - Clarke's a good player alright....would solve the winger/striker issue we have.   Reminds me a bit of Adam Lallana.

Once he finds out we are interested in signing him, he'll flip like a burger.

Ipswich season implosion any day now, right lads?

They’ll be fucked when the pitches get heavy in February

Yes, who could turn down an approach from our Rusty?

The battle for 3rd is going to be truly epic. Completely out of the automatic race before Christmas is some feat 😂

Not even half way through the season mate. Not beyond hope yet

We are due a bad run and Preston, Blackburn, Cardiff and Hull are all going to go on great runs and overtake us. We all know it. If we’d expanded our stadium when we had the chance we’d be playing on the champions league tonight not nervously looking over our shoulders at Hulls form

I bet you think Pompey are gonna win the league as well don't you?

Ages to go before things are nailed on - in any league.

We were one dynamic pricing model away from sustained glory but some bloody people just too short sighted to see it.

Fair fucks to Ipswich, thought they'd have already started to falter a little (still perhaps think they will) but this is some run.

Impressive from them.

Something of a crazy season shaping up.

That close to our destiny of playing in the Cortese dome in front of 55000 with a team full of academy graduates that was promised us.

The top two are making this a weird season. Already significantly ahead of Burnley and Sheffield last year. Amazing form, got to hand it to them.

However long way to go, Saints just need to win as often as possible.

Frankly first task is to overtake Leeds and stretch out a buffer of a few points. That won't be easy and will take time.

Then it's just a case of waiting for either Leicester or Ipswich to slip up. I reckon that's unlikely but stranger things have happened.

Ipswich have Norwich Leeds and Leicester next. In contrast Saints have Coventry, Blackburn, and QPR. Ideal time to load on the pressure.

Come on you Saints

Fair play to Ipswich, after coming 2nd in league 1 last year they are looking the real deal in the championship. I'd prefer them to win the league over Leicester, obviously if not us. I think we have to make sure we finish in the top 6 to give ourselves the best chance of promotion.

I would go one step further and say we would struggle from 7th......

To be fair we have to doth our caps to Leicester and Ipswich, they've run away with it and are worthy of their promotions, we can at least now focus on the FA Cup whilst doing enough to remain in the play off places,  then the real (mini) league starts in May

I can see it now. Ross Stewart makes his first start of the season in the play off final against his old team Sunderland and nets a last minute winner to send us up.. then does his ACL whilst celebrating and misses the whole of next season in the Premier League.

It doesn’t seem we can do as we are unable to score the second goals and Bunuzu’s last minute leak is inevitable.

It does seem like playoffs are the most likely now...annoying to go on such an unbeaten run and make such little progress up the table.

This unbeaten run isnt all that. Not when you throw in last min goals our end, and draw against the like of Huddersfield and Rotherham.

However, Russball loves it, so.......

Yeah the sooner we start losing again the better, stop all this guff about unbeaten runs.

We could have actually won more games. Unbeaten run and further behind Ipswich…. And they had dodgy results in that!!

Fuck me Ipswich, hats off. Some manager they appear to have there. I thought they looked really average at St Marys, mind... unfortunately we were less than average that night.

Assisted by some defending from Hoedt that looks very familiar

Fair point on the goals, we all know that needs sorting.

Bit harsh on Bazunu, all goalkeepers have those moments. He's been one of the positives so far, and is significant part of the unbeaten run.

Score the 2nd or 3rd goal and his earlier saves will be remembered rather than the fumble.

Well, not so sure about that. Our present points total would often have us at the top of the table at this stage no? Or maybe second? But surely - at worst - not so many points off the automatic places.

Saints are doing well - but Ipswich and Leicester are doing absurdly well.

Bit of a comedown for Newcastle. Massive fanfare before their first Champions league game against PSG, fireworks, drone displays, Champions League theme being played around the City.

Fair enough they beat PSG, but they've ended it by not even being in Europe in any competition in the 2nd half of the season.

No surprise when you look at how stretched they are though - no Pope, Botman, Tonali, Willock, Barnes etc. They were always going to start slipping when they had to call upon Lascelles and Dubraka again.

Cortese Dome ? It’s nothing compared to the blueprint for the Rasmus Arena.

Ipswich are a really decent side. Possession, but actually trying to do something with it. Hope Russ is taking notes

Get in Norwich! Another 5 defeats on the trot for Ipswich and I think we could be in with sniff of the automatics here... ;)

(MLG subnote: yes, I'm aware they haven't lost this one yet)

A left back so crap even he was surprised we signed him. 😀
