Well, it’s an opportunity missed but we’ve got away with one this weekend.

1pt closer to Ipswich, and no ground lost to Leeds

Can't disagree. I reckon West Brom might go on to claim the second automatic spot assuming Leicester don't cock things up.

If West Brom's manager was called Carl Carrington all their fans would hate him or something.

West Brom look the most likely runners-up to Leicester. Then it will be quite a scrap for the 4 play-off spots.

WBA are ten points behind Ipswich.

Talk about recency bias.

Next week Leeds will win 3-0 and WBA will draw and it will all be about Leeds again.

Where is this red-hot, hostile, you can't bend it, atmosphere?

It's a late fireworks night by the sounds of it. Not sure what they think a few fireworks is going to prove, they still pissed money up the wall they didn't have - they need to deal with it. Their owners shafted them, not the PL.

Their straw argument is that Man City haven't been punished for far worse, which is absolutely fair, but that doesn't mean they are this innocent child in all this.

An amazing goal by the young Man United lad

The most fascinating thing about it was not the quality of the strike but the XG was 0.08

Gets worse doesn’t it, probably the goal of the season and they’re banging on about the XG

This is surely textbook "grass is always greener"...  We're above West Brom, have a better squad, and are top of the form table, including beating WBA at home.  I doubt there are many WBA fans who think they're in a better position to go up than we are

Just completely unnecessary. Everyone who has played football at any level knows that that was a very difficult shot executed with excellent technique. Yet we have “according to XG a professional footballer will score that goal one time in every twelve attempts”. Just fuck off.

Just watching Fulham v Wolves. Wolves have been absolutely robbed, two VAR penalties where there was barely any contact. VAR continuing to be a complete and utter farce.

Is that the league we are striving to get into ?

Not missing VAR one bit.

Let's just do away with the offside rule altogether. It will surely lead to more goals, more excitement. Coaches and defenders, and indeed attackers will have to adapt accordingly.

And if they have to look at a VAR incident 965 times from 29 different angles (ok, so I exaggerate) to see if it's a penalty then it's not a clear and obvious mistake by the ref. He has called it as he has seen it and we should stick with that. If after one or two views at most they can't decide, then get on with it. Stick with the original decision. Its very subjective in those decisions anyway.

Dangerous "studs up" type tackles, it seems to work well if the ref misses it, but apart from that it ain't working. Mind you, even with a "head butt" type incident in the Fulham v Wolves game last night, they got that wrong as well....in my opinion of course, but there again, that's subjective.

VAR last night simply got in the way of a football match. It’s impossible to judge a foul by looking at a slow motion replay and the more times you look at it the more it will appear deliberate.

Bin it.

PSG such a funny team.

Barely anyone cares who wins the league in France and they'll never win the Champions League despite spending insane amounts of money.

I wanted VAR to come in, in order to stop the big mistakes like Doucoure scoring with his hand, or Gabbiadini having a perfectly fine goal ruled out in a cup final.

However, it looks to get too involved. The two above examples were big, but really they were the only two incidents where we were really hard done by off the top of my head, so not really groundbreaking. These days, VAR looks for reasons to disallow a goal, the whole enjoyment of the sport and will get involved during moments where nobodies really appealing for a decision to be made.

The refereeing standards in this country are just really poor. It’s a job for the boys setup where if you make a mistake you go to the Championship and then back to the Premier League a week later. The amount of money in the English game, refereeing standards have seemingly always been left behind.

In general I agree with you but you can’t let money rule the game.

I have always been against VAR and I have seen no reasons to change my mind. Seeing that game in Paris tonight shows that it’s not just the EPL that has problems.

Another big win for West Brom last night, have watched them a few times recently and honestly think they're worth a bet for promotion, good balanced side.

Hopefully they lose a few in the January transfer window.

I watched Watford last night. At the risk of getting pelters I thought they looked far better than us. No plodding football just zipping the ball around at pace, getting forward in numbers and utilising their quick powerful players. They had Norwich on the ropes and the victory margin could easily have been 1 or 2 more. Not looking forward to playing them.

Amusing goal from last night..

That has to be a foul on the keeper. Not for it’s intensity but because there is a separate category for ‘preventing the keeper from releasing the ball’.

The VAR official from the PSG v Newcastle match has been stood down from his next scheduled match.

That's a light let off. Horrendous decision that'll likely cost Newcastle a place in the next round.
