Chelsea really are embarrassing. If they can't win against a half-strength Newcastle who are shitting out of every 50:50, then there's no hope for them. Their front two right now, Broja and Jackson, wouldn't look out of place at Burnley or Sheffield United.

Steve Cooper sacked by Nottm Forest

Being replaced by Nuno Espírito Santo. Would have stuck with Cooper.

A while yet. But he managed that QF badly.

Howe wasn't as good as usual in applying his tried and trusted tactic of petty fouls and players going down injured to disrupt the flow of the game. Bit concerned that with Tripper clearly having lost it they will be looking for a new right back

I reckon Newcastle play quite similar to us under Ralph and they have reached the point where their players are all either knackered or injured.

Their recent poor form is such a shame for their fans, they work hard all week to spend their money on the club, they deserve success more than any other footy fans in the world.

Add the fact that they, more so than any other fans, love a No.9

Forest, as with some other teams, track their players each week with numbers, and it takes into account the opposition. The overall stats for alot of the players have dropped, so it wasn't so much the results that got him sacked.

You really have to be some sort of cunt if you think VAR improves the game. Villa game just paused for ages

I turned off after 10 minutes, by then there was already a couple of minutes of stopped clock due to VAR ‘having a look’.

Absolute bag o shite.

Tracking players with numbers eh? Rad.

No matter the result in the Leeds Ipswich game, if we win today then any result could be a decent one. We either move above Leeds for the first time in ages or we make up ground on Ipswich.

Makes a mockery of the 'clear and obvious' instruction.  Nothing that is 'clear and obvious' takes more than 30 seconds to identify.

Leeds win is definitely the best result for us, especially as Ipswich play Leicester next.

Auto promotion is definitely not a done deal as being Leicester and Ipswich, despite what a few on here said a week ago.

It will be if we don't win today imo.

Other than Leeds and Leicester, are there any other "decent" teams in the Championship ?

Why? We could draw and be closer to it than at the start of the day.

It will rumble on but the next 3 or 4 games a really good points total could put us in a very good position.

100%.

If we don't win today then automatic promotion is a two from three situation. Three that doesn't include us.

Teams that go up automatically go out and win pressure games like todays. Not draw them, didnt we do well, look at us all unbeaten, a point is a good result etc etc.

Win them.

Constantly surprised by how dismissive people are of Ipswich on here considering they're doing exactly what we did in 2011/12.

By that logic we have to win every remaining game. Every game feels vital but there is still a long way to go and we will have more draws and defeats between now and the end of the season.

Top 2 is a tall order but it won't be decided on whether we beat QPR on 23rd of December.

Well we’ve got to close a 10 or 13 point Gap on teams averaging 2.36 and 2.26 points a game, plus over take Leeds plus we’ve got a worse goal difference so in reality it’s 11 points. With 23 games left we need to average about 0.5 of a point per game more than them. There isn’t much margin for error

This is where we have to take advantage of Ipswich. They have hit a sticky patch and have Leicester next week. Nothing less than a win today is acceptable.

Leeds might be lucky to keep some of these forward players come the end of the window. Summerville will likely be in demand.

Offer them £15million and Che Adams for shits and giggles.

And what the runaway winners of league one could do next season 😳

Hopefully Leicester can give them a pummeling on Boxing day to trigger an Ipswich wobble whilst we win both. Then it's a 4 point gap and we can see how they handle Leeds\Saints breathing down their necks.

I agree and it will be very difficult. Personally I think we're nailed on for playoffs. But it's still possible even if we don't win today. I would be amazed if Ipswich maintain close to that ppg ratio, and if they do we ain't catching them regardless.
