Crazy how often we’re seeing these freak scorelines now, that’s eight or nine nil almost every season for the last 4 years. It’s a bit like the global warming of football.

The 3 promoted sides have 1 point each , has the gap between Prem/Championship ever been wider ? How would have Saints done if they bounced back next season ? If they don't get relegated a period of consolidation is required .

Wasn't that long ago we put 8 past Sunderland (9 years). Hard to imagine this nowadays.

Just checked and Sheffield Wednesday have not been in the Prem since season 99-2000, and don't look like getting anywhere near it any time soon. Obviously this ain't Saints related, I'm just sayin'.

At 2-0 after 10 minutes, the way Sunderland are walking through the Wednesday defense puts our win there in perspective. Hopefully, Wednesday will claw back.

I see Wednesday’s owner has put out a piece about how the fans aren’t being nice to him

and now he isn’t going to put anymore money into the club because he has hurty feelings.

Some funny scores today so far. Luton beating Everton. Ipswich losing at Huddersfield, Preston 3 down at home. Middlesbrough 3-2 up at Watford despite a goal from Hoedt.

United losing at home to Palace and City losing to Wolves as well.

I didn't notice the Man City score for some reason. Is Man Utd losing at home a shock now, I'm not sure!

Feel a bit sorry for Cheltenham. Rock bottom of League One. 10 league games played in which time they have no goals scored. Must be some sort of record?

Amusingly the only point they have is from a 0-0 against Portsmouth.

Interesting leagues this year. Sides seemingly winning and losing games they shouldn't. Brighton brilliant one week, then hammered 6-1 at Villa. Could do with Blackburn beating Leicester today and halting them running away at the top.

Suspect playing  in European matches may derail Brighton this season !
