Have we ever considered getting someone in the Chapel to do this to the players after a loss?

Does Hat Kunt still go? Or what about the lad that organised the march from town to St Marys with a coffin back in the Lowe days? The sort of guys we need to smash it to the under performing players.

It’s going well for Maitiland-Niles and Caleta-Car in France

Interesting the players stood there listening to the dressing down. Players here would have walked down the tunnel well before an ultra could have grabbed a mic.

Cambridge beat Reading 1-0 in an awful match. Some good posts on the Reading forum, makes you reminisce:

"Probably doesn’t help that we started without a natural number 9 tonight. Not sure why Kelvin E didn’t start unless there was a fitness issue of sorts. Let’s not worry about running players into the ground if that’s the excuse either, we’ve played less than 10 games and now have a 2 week gap between fixtures. For a team struggling to score, doesn’t seem very sensible to put our only reliable goal scorer on the bench."

"90 minutes spent hoofing the ball up to midget forwards playing against towering CBs."

"Clueless tactics. Just play aimless long balls. Constantly give away possession. Dreadful stuff."

"Dreadful stuff really. Was really hoping to watch this tonight and feel some hope for the future. Nope. How low have we come to make a load of scuffers like Cambridge look like Barcelona."

Lots of talk about Maguire starting later.

What is wrong with Southgate...?

Same in cricket. Public want players changed swiftly but managers as expected show loyalty to players that haven’t let them down. Although can’t play rusty players

i get sticking by players, but there is a limit with the likes of Maguire and Phillips. They just don't play.

England will obviously qualify and these games should be to bring in others to gain the experience. Just very odd

Edit - Southgate is now saying both Maguire and Phillips will play because we lack 'depth'

Strange, England have played 25 minutes of boring, slow possession football without creating a chance and Dion Dublin (what does he know) suggests we need to move it a lot quicker. Ukraine have had little possession but looked to get at England and now they are one up. Ring any bells?

1-1. Harry Kane taking charge and deciding to bypass the tip-tap and play an incisive longer pass into the danger zone.

This team’s not far off, but I’d prefer to see Maddison and Rice in the centre, Rashford out on the left. Just let Bellingham play in a free role as the 10, he’s utterly ridiculous. Henderson has had his uses in the past but he’s a plodder and you need something more against teams like Ukraine who will set themselves up with two solid banks of defence and midfield.

It's all been far too predictable so far tonight.

Thought was alright, but way off the best. Henderson did nout, thought it was odd seeing Bellingham push left as he went forward (as Maddison tucked in). Kyle Walker was very good as per. Although Kane put in a great ball for the goal, he is doing what Rooney did in the end, drops deeper and deeper. At one point, he was in the LB position defending.....Rashford was pretty meh

How much did Chelsea pay for that Ukrainian - Mudryk?

Angus Gunn starts for Scotland. Shoot on sight lads!

Bellingham - sooo much better in the middle rather than left side of midfield

He definitely is but up to the goals I thought he’d been a bit off it (by his standards). He’s clearly a generational talent, just supreme ability, but I’m not sure yet where’s most effective. I think he suits perfectly an old fashioned number 8 in a 442 where he can get the ball and drive with it; but nobody plays that these days.  This 10 role he’s in is the next best I suppose.

But yes, 100% better than against Ukraine which was a bit of a bizarre system all round.

Thank god Harry Maguire got some game time. I’d have hated to see Colwill or Tomori getting some more England experience.

Cant possibly expose Colwill to playing is a standium like this in a foreign land, against Che Adams and Lyndon Dykes
