Not as straightforward as it could have been, and we’ll need to get used to a lower standard of refereeing, but did well to stay focused, and the way we saw out the game was excellent.

Very promising given the time RM has had to switch to that style and the uncertainty around players. Thought Smallbone was excellent 2nd half.

Encouraging. At times pretty slick.

We're a work in progress, and we definitely need more 'up top', but that is a very good start.

This season could be an enjoyable ride.

Great to start with a win but plenty of work to do. I still feel nervous when we try to defend any set piece with the zonal marking. Offensively, a lot of tipppy tappy possession but an end product that often resulted in a shot from outside the box. The second goal shows what they’ve been working on and it should hopefully click even more as the season progresses. 
AA had a few nice touches and turns in the first half, Edozie will get his man booked every game, we need to keep giving it to him. 
MoM for me was either JWP, KWP or Smallbone.

The only worry is that KWP, JWP, Tella and Che off the bench were our best players, and they could all leave in the next month.

Stu was very good off the bench as well, I thought.

Anybody watching that thinking we were negative/especially slow was just trying to find something to moan about.

The one thing we got right last year was sending Tella and Smallbone out on loan. Both immense at this level.

Three things...firstly, did Nathan Tella look like he wants to be "freed?" And where did a total of 15 mins of extra time come from? Finally, if refs are going to continue dishing out red cards like confetti, we are going to need a big squad....

Really lovely watching us just pass round them for the 9 minutes of added time. Lovely to have that winning feeling again too.

We've got some real quality in the team.Please can we can add a little steel and not be robbed of players in that xi.

Would have liekd us to put foot to throat when on top in first half

Lack of aerial ability. We don't look a threat from corners(mr set piece expert needds to work some short corner routines) and more importantly we look suspect defensively from them. From that regard Adams looks a better prospect than Armstrong and if adams goes you'd hope they address it with someone who carries some sort of aerial threat while being more mobile than onachu.

Wednesday look bad, relegation scrap team bad.

Yep playing Wednesday like that is one thing but playing Leeds or Leicester like that without more cutting edge and we'll be punished on the counter.
