This is the first season in a long long time that I have no idea how it'll go.

We could smash the league and won it by a distance, implode and get relegated again or anything in-between. It's quite a nice feeling

The scoreboard.

Do jwp and bannon get a shot on target each? I wanna make an easy 80 quid off skybet.

Cripes…just remembered…no VAR. hated it…will I be rueing not having it anymore 🤷🏻‍♂️

We're inevitably going to be fuming at the lack of it soon!

I want to be optimistic but on the basis of last season and the friendliest I’m not sure there’s any evidence to suggest we can score more than one goal and plenty of evidence we could concede two or three. Please let me be wrong!

Never been so nervous for a first game. I feel there's more pressure on us to win this than there ever has been in my 20 years of watching (in terms of first games of the season I mean)

Livramento, ABK, Larios, Perraud, Onuachu and Mara not travelled.

I'll go with this as a final prediction -

                       Bazunu
KWP - Bednarek - Stephens - Manning
                    Smallbone
                 Alcaraz - JWP
           Tella - Arma - Edozie

McCarthy, Lyanco, Bree, Charles, Lavia, S. Armstrong, Djenepo, Amo-Ameyaw, Adams

Exactly this but with Aribo in for Bree. COYR.

This is the bit I don't miss from our last time in the league, that initial feeling of not knowing who 75% of these sides are.

I know you're probably joking, but I think we'll probably miss VAR in the not too distant future. PL refs are bad, down here they are worse.

As they say, be careful what you wish for.

yeah it came across to me as some local dj headlining and these were the support acts for the festival.

Looking forward to seeing Smallbone play.  Must be half decent to get a start.

Surprised Edozie is starting.

We’ll win 4-2.

Same am not sure i saw enough from him to start but if Sully isnt fit he's probably more reliable than moussa.

5 subs is going to be brilliant here. Adams, S. Armstrong, Lavia and possibly Djenepo and Aribo start for most Championship sides. Then you have the hidden gem in Amo-Ameyaw.

How long until someone says, “we don’t need VAR, we just need refs to do their job FFS!” As if they never saw this coming.

A manager that actually knows how to pick a starting xi

First one in years

Yes, and he didn't pick Moi. What a relief.

All we're asking for is consistency

VAR can fuck off. It isn’t so much the decisions just the bs wait and can’t celebrate and get on with game.

I don't mind waiting for the other team's offside goals to be chalked off (or ones batted into the net with their hands).

Or for our disallowed onside goals to be given.

What a relief to have a manager pick a predictable, balanced team. the first time in years and it was a big reason we were relegated.

They’re predicting VAR is coming to the championship, an announcement to be made on it before Xmas. So it’s coming, potentially from next season.  Maybe we’ll have to get relegated again to avoid it.

What the fuck is this fucking pony build up on sky.  It’s for fucking 12 year olds.

Means they have to do no work/research, just ask a bunch of moronic questions.

He's new. Hopefully it will last, and he doesn't develop favourites and teacher's pets.
