Non football songs that mention Southampton FC

Can't be many?

I just know of this one. On about 1.30 he sings 'Head to St. Marys - see the best team on earth. Southampton FC - been a fan since birth.'

Anyone know RapperNED? He nails a few things about Southampton pretty well in this song!

"Steamroller" by The Family Cat (a 90s indie band that were a lot better than there lack of fame suggests!) contains the lyric "And the saints, are playing at home today". Lead singer Paul Fredericks is a saints fan and regularly performed wearing a retro saints shirt 😁

Coldplay - Us Against The world: And I just want to be there when the lightening strikes
And the saints go marching in

Probably just a reference to the generic song but the drummer is a Saints fan so it might be a proper mention. Let’s count it.

How about the Dylan song sung by Joan Baez - "Its all over now baby blue"

7th line -  "Look out baby, the Saints are comin' through"

I played it a few times when we were moving from L1 to PL and the cheats were going the other way

Pink Floyd mention" She stands upon Southampton dock
With her handkerchief
And her summer frock clings
To her wet body in the rain. ....................btw awesome album................................The Final Cut.

Came here to say this. Cracking tune by a much underated band.

I don't think they have any songs about the football club, but there's a funny ramshackle local punk band called S0dds who have songs which reference stuff in the city.

There's one about Annie's Cafe in Woolston, one about the Co-op around the corner and another about crashing their car into Redbridge roundabout. They are very funny live.

In a ridiculous turn of events they even had this song played on Radio 1.

They were a massive part of my 6th form years in the early 90s, it was a crying shame that they didn't "make it" along with the likes of Molly Halfhead!

That's alright actually, I can also relate because I need a new wardrobe.

Be a dear gent, can you post the other ones up please. The ones that you mentioned.

I'm a fan of Saints and Southampton related songs. I have just over 2 hrs worth atm which I start blasting out 2 and a half hours before kick off every game including friendlies for the past 22 year. Neighbours love it. Will upload an example...

Tinie Tempah Pass Out - Been to Southampton never been to Scunthorpe

I remember that coming out it was huge in Australia and gave me the proud opportunity to announce I’m from there any time it came on.

I don't think they have posted them anywhere. There's one called Package Holiday which references the Red Lion but the others are just played live.

@Master Bates I somehow forgot about this, but was reminded of it when I saw him play it live yesterday.

Millbrook Road by Sean McGowan. Video filmed in Millbrook too.

Sean also has an EP where the front cover was shot on Weston Shore
