This is a long and old article about this situation, but as relevant today as when it was written. It shows the mind set of a younger Netanyahu, which doesn’t bode well for the current situation, and shines a light on where we are now from someone with a far greater knowledge of it than any of us here has. It will probably upset those who can’t read any criticism of the Israeli government without throwing accusations of antisemitism around, but it would be good for them to read a well balanced view of what has happened to Israeli government attitudes over the years and why we are where we are.

Any chance of naming this TV program you watched? Quite a few people want to watch it too

I thought he was vacating the thread in protest at an overwhelming majority of posters objecting to jew hate? Only lasted a couple of days.

Netanyahu is a Nationalist, and his coalition is propped up by ultra Zionists. Everybody knows this, and understands that it colours his attitude towards his neighbours.

What is ' alt-right'?.....is that the same as 'alt -left'?

It is a white, far right, extreme nationalist movement that operate through social media. One of our regular posters here used to use one of their memes, Pepe The Frog, as an avatar until he was outed.

It might be a Michael Barrymore catch phrase: "Are you alt-right ?, I'm alt-right'. Or maybe a new political blooper show "It'll be 'alt-right' on the night"'.

Perhaps he was being ironic.

Not everyone ;)

Some people needed to scour the internet to find 14 year old articles for confirmation :mcinnes:

I didn’t “scour the internet” for the article. It was recommended to me. The purpose of posting the article was not to make a specific post about Netanyahu, although it was relevant given where he is now and what is happening at the moment. The Netanyahu reference is a very small part of the article (his quote “we’ve got to get the Palestinians out of the West Bank for good”)but then you would know that if you had bothered to read it.

I posted the article because although it was written some time ago, it was written by someone who supported Israel and explained, very well, how things have changed there. It is very relevant to what is happening now.

I know that you are desperate to nit pick every post I make but maybe, for a change, why don’t you engage your brain and try and join a grown up conversation?

The article is a very good summary of one side of the discussion  as posted on this thread, but I am not sure it adds anything new.

Think it gives an insight into what Israel is doing to Gaza now.

Most of which can be found in the preceding pages of this topic. What the article does do is propose that the influx of immigrants from the Russian diaspora has perhaps slewed Israeli public attitudes by bringing their own experiences of historical oppression, and associated consequential prejudices.

"until he was outed." Hang tight, I'll stick another pepe on tonight when I'm less busy.

Did you miss the current news showing what is happening, so needed an article from 2009 to give you an insight?

I didn’t need it, just thought it was an interesting perspective from someone who clearly knows more about the situation than you or I.

Is that OK with you?

Or did you find it on Twitter like your Nigel Farage program?

Still no sign, I’m starting to think it doesn’t exist. 😂

It’s strange isn’t it. Given that it seems to be a damning  indictment of Farage, which confirms Sog was right all along and contains quotes of his talking about gassing Jews you’d think he’d be desperate for us all to see it.

Maybe SOG is waiting to get to 100 posts where it's mention, before the reveal.

One more down, you boys will push it over the line soon enough.

Big reveal? Am I missing something here? I stopped reading posts from the usual suspects on this thread a while back so if they are expecting a response to something they have a long wait ahead.

Anyway, this is aimed at the non usual suspects and posters who don’t hate Muslims - anyone seen any proof that the tunnels under the Al Shifa hospital housed the Hamas command centre in Gaza yet? I saw some footage taken in the tunnels yesterday and there was nothing there apart from electric cables. No sign of recent activity. Nothing.

I have just had the pleasure (?) of watching a programme about Nigel Farage which filled in a few gaps in my knowledge about him. Somehow I had missed his past support for Hitler’s policies and quite blatant antisemitism and quote that Hitler was right about gassing the Jews. Surely this isn’t the same Nigel Farage who our resident antisemite hunter Lord Duckhunter defends loyally and supports politically? No, it can’t possibly be can it? Perhaps it is ok because he doesn’t actually criticise them, he just endorses their genocide? Note to self, instead of calling out Netanyahu’s inhuman policy of the constant. bombing and shooting of civilians in Gaza and the West Bank, I should instead have said that he and his cronies should be gassed. That would pass the Duckhunter litmus test on antisemitism

Seeing as he specifically mentioned me in the initial post, I’d have thought the right of reply was a given. What sort of weirdo makes things up like that, and what sort of weirdo defends it?

This question has already been raised several times, most recenly asked and commented on on Monday. It is fairly clear that it doesn't exist, but the idea served it's purpose as justification for the actions of the IDF, who have since allowed the issue to quietly disappear into the "fog of war', obscured by all the other activity going on in Gaza.

so when you said the other day you check the posts of people who you have got on ignore to "see how the thread is going" that was another lie was it? You did this in response to quoting me and hypo within the last couple of weeks, so the statement you "stopped reading posts from the usual suspects on this thread" is another lie as you've responded to Weston and LD, quoted hypo and admitted you've checked on the posters to have on ignore on this thread all within the last week. Stop bullshitting so much Soggy, your failing old memory isn't up to it. You fool no one.

Be careful. The mad fuckers get very twitchy, go through your posting history  and get  upset  if you dare to  suggest that SOG is winding them up.

This one has been going on for nearly 6 days now and has got many bites from them. Definitely one of the better wind ups. 😁

Lots of sickening stuff has happened during this, but the 12 year old lad made to watch video's of the attack on his own kibbutz was awful. The physical and mental health crisis after this has ended is gonna be horrendous.

So you agree that since he hasn't managed to post a link to his post from 6 days ago, it was really just a smokescreen so he could post his feelings on "gassing the Jews".

Some windup that. Some might say it is antisemitic.

Good to see that you enjoy such horrific posts though....

Okay pal, so soggy spending a week behaving like the saintswebs answer to Pontus Pilate and making yet another ridiculous claim, being asked to back it up whilst everyone takes the piss out of him is Sog brilliantly pulling the strings of this forum. I tell you I’m filled with wonder at his genius as how he repeatedly has managed to come across as a self righteous, pious, antisemitic bellend across numerous forums but it actually a genius wanting everyone to think that for his amusement whilst not even reading the post of anyone  who disagrees with him so doesn’t even know if it’s working

This is your problem Sog and why in the autumn of your life your spending your days feeling unfulfilled. You are a lean out person. You should be a lean in person. a lean out person isn’t about being wrong or right it’s about being so arrogant you refuse to listen learn and pay attention to anyone with a different view to your own.

When someone disagrees with you you put them on ignore. You shouldn’t. Words should be bridges to comprehension not barriers to connection. Lean in more, don’t block people who disagree with you, find more. Don’t run from ideas that make you feel uncomfortable, find more. This is where growth happens.

Tame has a point though. SoG's thrown in a post that's plainly bollox to get reactions. Weird AF to do, but he's got the reactions he wants, and keeps getting them. A classic case of feeding the troll
