All that the killing has done is ensure that there will be much more in the future.

It's the same old cycle just on a bigger scale and it will just carry on as before, unless there is some sort of roadmap to a two state solution.

What was the realistic alternative that would have ended the killing? There wasn't one. I feel like this is going round in circles constantly but Hamas are an islamic extremist organisation that want Israel to cease to exist. Their existence I their land is an affront to them and they will be satisfied when they are killed or at least no longer there. It is not possible to negotiate with terrorists such as this. Destroying Hamas and Hezbollah and preventing them from properly hurting you for a number of years is therefore the best policy albeit a very flawed one full of not great options. There will be many more deaths in the future regardless unfortunately but that's religious fundamentalism for you.

God knows what he solution is now but every time someone is killed it just creates more people who want to kill in revenge. Israel have reduced the threat for now but and have just guaranteed their children and grandchildren will face more of the same, if not worse.

Exactly. There isn't a solution. Their children and grandchildren were already guaranteed to face more of the same. As you say they've reduced the threat for now which is about the best they could have done from their perspective.

I disagree, I think that's a defeatist attitude - there has to be a two state solution there somewhere. It is further away than ever now though.

It was never close. Your attitude has no understanding of what extremist Islam is and why it's impossible to negotiate with it. Lighthouse was attempting to explain this over a year ago.

Many Palestinians might want that but Hamas, backed by Iran, has no intention of allowing Israel to exist at all. There will never be peace.

Oh yes it can. There are plenty of people out there genuinely longing for Armageddon; judgement day so that whichever god they happen to believe in can grant them eternal paradise and punish the non believers.

They all had, rational goals which could be negotiated, which gives some ground for a compromise to be met. Hamas and Iran want the entire Jewish state wiped off the face of the Earth. They don’t want a free Palestine, they want a gone Israel.

Israel’s existence is the reason for Hamas’ existence. People want to join them to wipe Jews and/or the Jewish state off the face of the earth, I don’t know how many times it needs to be repeated before people get it. The Israeli retaliation will invariably make things worse but remember; the initial terror attack which killed 1500 innocent people, from a variety of different countries, happened first.

Why do people want to join Al-Qaeda, Al-Shabaab, Boko-Haram or ISIS?

See above. This stuff was being pointed out since the start of this thread.

Lighthouse isn't an authority. He's just a bloke who agrees with your pro Israeli opinion.

How is it pro Israel to accurately describe what Hamas is and why it is pointless and potentially dangerous to negotiate with them?

And when one of the two states decides the other has something it doesn't they all get round a table and play rock, paper, scissors to resolve the perceived differences?

Nope. Never expressed any opinion I’d consider to be ‘pro-Israeli’ just a rudimentary understanding of that particular conflict and what motivates both sides to do what they do. I can’t even be arsed going into it again, suffice to say some people are still not getting the basic ideas.

Be sure to be completely clear on the name of the game. The 1964 game of Dome of the rock, paper, scissors nearly resulted in war across the middle east.

Very true. There's a few on here that can't grasp that neither state wanting the other to exist, and that both states need to agree the principle of 2 states to even have a prospect of peace. That's basics.

Nobody has come up with a better plan than that yet 👍

Now there’s a ceasefire I presume the “peaceful marchers”, who were calling for one, will be doing something else on Saturdays. Meaning jews can feel safe on the streets of London once more.

They'll be marching against trump this weekend. There is always a bandwagon to jump on when you want to find one.

My brother worked in construction when hindered by swampy and others. He said they actually respected them because they were hardy fuckers and put up with so much shit.

Meanwhile Palestinians are still not safe in either Gaza or the West Bank. But then you don’t care about innocent Muslims do you. By the way, exactly how many Jewish people have been attacked either on these marches or going about their normal business? It must be hundreds given your post.

The amount of personal attacks you make at people is fucking disgraceful. You should be ashamed of yourself. Just one look at your posting history shows an endless volley of abuse and name calling aimed at certain posters often unprovoked. You really are a piece of work trying to hide under this mask of being a lovely, caring bloke. A fucking pensioner spending your life obsessing about people you dont know on an internet forum. What an existence!!
