Only if he got Dragan's cash without Rasmus's dumbfuckery

We never played Norwich when both Farke and Martin were there. Farke joined in the summer of 2017 and Martin left the following January, and they were in the Championship that season.

It was Farke’s side at St Mary’s I was watching.   As the ridiculous football they played that night is so similar to us now, I assumed it was Farke’s influence on Martin that shaped his philosophy.

I suppose there were loads of div 1 sides back in the day playing PepBall .  Maybe Guardiola discovered it himself on a rainy night in Scunthorpe.

Ralph has Dragons cash for the August window before he left. We ended up with Larios, Edozie, Bazunu, Caleta-Carr, Maitland-Niles and Mara

Jeez. That's a real tale of quantity over quality, and hope over proven ability.

We got Lavia, Bella-Kotchap and Aribo too but really only one of those has proven to be a decent signing. One of nine

Not sure about that. Aribo has been alright and Lavia was superb business.

I'd argue a case for Aribo being a reasonable squad player, and I'm not sure how much of the ABK debacle is down to the player or bad man management.  But yep, shocking business and a monumental waste of money.

Yeah Aribos been okay to be fair for £7m. Bella-Kotchap obviously a good player but not been good for us for whatever reason. Overall truly awful business though and January was even worse. Orsic, Tall Paul, Sulemana, Alvarez and Bree

Blimey. Horrific. I feel for Dragan, he's been properly tucked up by people he's put his trust in.

To be fair didnt Bree come to us on a Free or a minimal payment?
A decent Championship player who has been relatively value for money compared with the majority of players including other full backs such as Larios and Small who cost upwards of £10m in total and have done absolutely nothing.

It makes you wonder who made all the decisions on signings when JW left and never properly replaced.

Makes me wonder how he got to be so rich if he demonstrates the same lack of judgement, susceptibility to bullshit and lack of ruthlessness or balls he seems to show at Saints in his other businesses .

Yeah Bree was cheap maybe even free. Jones mate from Luton. Decent championship player but hardly played for us 26 times in nearly 2 years according to wiki

But he takes no action to rectify the situation. It's as though he enjoys putting his money down the drain. As a successful businessman he comes across as a mug when it comes to the way he allows the football club to be run.

Im not exaggerating at all when I say that every single person in the Southampton hierarchy that was responsible for recruitment in those two windows should be fired directly into the sun

Sports Republic must act now, but we know they won't.

The fans need to make their feelings known in a stronger manner, if he isn't gone by the Spurs game.

Time to get out the banners, protest and make SMS as uncomfortable as possible for the ownership group and RM.

Thanks for Wembley Martin but you are so far out of your depth now

This is how a good manager handles a player like Bella Kotcha....

It feels like we really need someone more ruthless running the show. Yes Martin got us up (just) but all his credit has well and truly gone. As much as Cortese was a twat behind the scenes, he made some very BRAVE decisions that benefitted us massively. SR are a laughing stock right now.

Please don't use the word 'brave', it triggers me.

For the love of god this just needs ending now. Sack him tonight please.

What are they waiting for, nothing will change till he is gone. We are an absolute joke of a football club at the moment, how can they not see what literally everybody else can.

This was all so avoidable SR, its on you🤷

Apparently there's a bit of money to spend in January. How about we don't sign anyone and sack Martin? Given we are down - I'd imagine most of the fans would take that scenario.

I have to say that I am generally against sacking a Manager, unless he has lost the Dressing Room, which it seems he hasnt, at the moment.

However this awful style of play, allied to some woeful expenditure on players, is really causing some significant issues with results and fans feel good factor (which is basically below zero at the moment)

The only aim, from most of us, is to get more points than the pathetic low number Derby achieved to herald their return to the lower levels.

Russell Martin said that he had to sort out the mess the previous Managers left him and, to be fair he made a decent stab at it in the Championship.

Heaven knows what shit show Martin's replacement will have to deal with next season.

There’s absolutely no doubt he’s the worst top flight manager in anyone alive lifetime. That’s some fucking statement when we’ve had the likes of Jones, Branfoot, Wigley, Grey & Pelligrino.

Some genius will be along in a minute to pretend that no manager alive or dead from Pep to Ferguson in his peak could do any better with this squad than one win and 5 points from 15 games.

Russell Martin is the absolute best available manager on the planet.

We’re not going to sack him now. We’re going to spend £15m on a cultured, ball playing, 5’6" CB in January, THEN sack Martin on February 12th and replace him with a lower league long ball merchant. It’s the sport republic way.

He just blamed the fans for the goal, saying we made Lumley go long and give the ball away 😂 also claimed the pitch got too dry and impacted how we pass the ball.

Shame THB listened to Lego instead of the fans. Had he hoofed it away, we wouldn’t have given the goal away….

No points,no goals and no shots on target again. We are way beyond laughing stock, how much longer have the fans got to put up with Martin and the owners ? The silence is deafening from the club.

What an arrogant pr*ck....

He's clearly getting rattled. How dare the fans express disapproval at Lumley kicking long - can't they see all the success we have from playing it short to feet from the back? Arrogance personified but he's beginning to show more and more signs that he knows he's way out of his depth. He just can't help himself because of his ego.

Yep - absolutely no need to bring the fans into it but he can't help himself. Just does it to make himself feel better. Absolute joker.

He’s been increasingly fractious in recent weeks when pressed on tactics and results. The dynamic is changing in that respect and there’s no doubt he’s feeling the pressure.

He is really winding me up now.Im usually a mild mannered person but he so far up his own backside. He doesn't care about the club and the fans. Its all about himself and thinks he is bigger than the club, believing all the hype he hears off Pep and other managers about his style of football.Thinks he should be at a bigger club.Supported saints since early 80s and he is top of my list of the most disliked manager and we have had a few bad managers.Rant over where are my blood pressure tablets.

Have some sympathy with the man...

No other manager has had to continously make interviews and pressers over such a long and poor period. To come up with shit to say, every week after the same horrible mistakes and toothless displays, must take its toll.

He is very brave. Out of his league, out of depht, out of ideas - he takes a beating every week and has to talk about it...

'Belief'... so vague, so fucking hard to evidence. Very easy for Russell to talk about. Cop out.
