Where are they pretending everything is rosy? I've seen nothing said by SR.

They have constantly banged on about this being a 10 year plan

Does anyone know what the expected outcome would be at the end of this supposed 10 year plan? If not then I suspect it's cobblers and that there's really not much of a plan for the team at all.

10 years of Sport Republic sounds like purgatory.

Which is bizarre, since you are the one who made up the 10 year plan scenario in the first place.

Walter Mitty again.

Does anyone have a link to the 10 year plan stuff - it's been mentioned ad infinitum on the forum for the last couple of years but I can't find any link to it anywhere. Was it mentioned in one of the fans forums or something like that?

Yes it was. I remember it distinctly. I can't find a reference either, but it definitely came from above!

Quote from the Manning article on Sky Sports:

(interesting that we see the same mistakes game after game and we practice the same things every day.  I’ve yet to notice us dragging teams out of shape though)

But I think there's a lot of our play that comes from playing out from the back that leads to chances which wouldn't be there unless we had built up.

"That's about dragging teams into different shapes and different positions that they wouldn't normally be in.

"We are consistent in what we believe in and we practise the same things every day. Every training session is designed to make us better on a match day and at the end of the season, I feel like things will click and we'll be out of the bottom three by then.

"I think we'll be looking back and saying that it was just a tough period that we went through. It only takes one or two results to go your way and all of a sudden the picture changes a lot."

🤥

It reminds me of Hitler in ‘Downfall’. Always hoping that the ‘Steiner Angriff’ would save him.

Oh God, is he still following me around being wrong? This obsession with me is getting embarrassing. I guess it's the beauty of the "Ignore" function (although I wish it also blocked when the ignored are quoted).

Did it mention :

1. Yo-Yo's or any derivative of yo-yo / yo-yo club?

2. PSR (innit)?

3. Not wanting to be promoted at the first attempt?

4. Recruiting players in the summer transfer window whilst having just returned to the Prem specifically for the championship?

5. Bravery?

5. Bravery?

1. Invest in players and salary to get promoted

2. Concede 60 goals minimum

3. If promotion happens then use club sources to disseminate / pretend that this was an accident and actually when you think about it really we didn't intend to go up at all and best if we go down ideally locked in before Jan 1st window opens.

4. Alternatively Fail to go up.

5. If 4. happens make further cut backs in player and business investment using the failure to get promoted as a business reality requiring cutting of cloth accordingly. Scraping play offs becomes the height of our ambition. The message is now that promotion was essential in 2024 and now we are in regression to preserve the business

6. In all scenarios sign Nathan Wood

7. In all scenarios concede 60 goals again.

8. Find a way to convince a retired glamour model to do one more job

9. Set up Sport Republic Adult Calendar division

10. Build a Costa thing in Corporate area

11. I don't know, a black version of a 90s away kit?

On the current course being steered by SR and Russell we'll be somewhere below Eastleigh and negotiating a stadium swap.

That sounds like Soggy and a conversation from one of the people he bumps into in his travels around Kent.

You don’t think he’s been lurking on here do you and taken a leaf from Soggy’s book?

But does it? Have they said anything when we were doing well (in 2nd last season)? I don't really remember seeing much from them in general tbh so not sure it means anything.

I guess you could argue keeping Martin here suggests that they think all is well.

We stick, unless we have a plan. We did not after Ralph and things got a lot worse! We will not have a better option and it will be change for the sake of change, and few million down. The owners will stick anyway, so stop your moaning, and if we need to go again we will from the Championship. You never know we might pick, well we have but stupid errors.

I think people are annoyed because they can see glimpses that we could actually be a half decent side.

The reason we have so many players suspended is because they are continuously giving the ball away and having to foul to stop the opposition players taking advantage. A few times tonight we went more direct and looked a real threat.

If we can do that more and cut back on the stupid passing out from the back then great.

Yep, and we scored 2. 1 less piss poor mistake from the 3 we made and we've have had a point.

We certainly looked better against them than Real Madrid did.

It's not even all the passing out, it's just being pragmatic and knowing when to pass out.

Just back from the game. We were really good second half, after a poor opening half where we created little. Support for the team and Martin is still strong at the games, with 3,000 singing his name at the end, compared to so much negativity on here. I was in corporate (sorry) tonight, so socialising with Brighton fans after, and they were very complimentary of how we played, unlucky not to beat them, as strong as anyone they’ve played at home, surprised we are where we are in the league, etc.

Keep the faith… for a little longer anyway!

but we should have been 3 or so down before half time ,if it weren't for sloppy finishing ,in our favour for once,it has to be said. But just give the team more directness and we look fairly good going forward ,which is pleasantly surprising given the lack of forward passes we tend to make. Var once again took the drama out of the game. What 4.30 mins to make avery very harsh call. looked to me from the angle behind the goal ,the keeper wasn't hindered by A.A whatsoever ,yet because he moved his leg as to try and make some kind of contact with the ball was deemed offside, maybe because the VAR try not to allow goals they had to look it up in the rules.

He's a loon!

If we'd have scored 3 more goals we'd have beaten them easily.  The fact we didn't doesn't even cross his mind.

Oh, and we look better than Real Madrid - absolute Walter Mitty.

Sheffield United won again.

Them sacking their manager on 5th December last year continues to pay dividends.

As a wise person on this forum said in regard to SUFC "everything that happened before the new manager was appointed is irrelevant".

That could be us. Yes relegation is secured - but a bright future and an irrelevant recent past is in touching distance.
