Well you have to be brave to sit through a week of him talking tactics and then having to embarrass yourself on the pitch every week playing a system that even someone who never played football or saw a match could work out is insane.

That defeat today is the consequence of his stupid possession at all costs. We made a few individual breaks that improved the result. We cannot improve until he goes and a more orthodox football manager devoid of this sort of stupidity is employed.

Nearly every other premier league side beats Liverpool today. Only saints are capable of handing 3 goals on a plate. This squad of players is so horrendously managed, it’s untrue. Yet we also have a similarly clueless bunch of twats running this club who’d rather sit on their hands and watch a complete shit show unfold than actually admit their mistakes. The key for me is, that certain people at the club are putting their ego above the well-being of the football club, and that’s totally unacceptable. Other clubs would be giving their owners some serious serious heat right now on match days. They’re lucky we are so passive as a fan base

The fans in the ground were better today in calling out Martin-ball, especially with the jeers and booing for their first pathetic goal and ironic cheering at Alex kicking long which wasn’t aimed at the player. Need far more of that. But don’t let up when Rasmus finally calls his vape buddy on Teams. Keep on SR’s case until they get the club back to the established PL outfit they inherited and were supposed to improve.

From the BBC:

Southampton have lost 10 of their 12 Premier League games this season (W1 D1), the earliest into a league season the Saints have ever hit double figures for defeats. Indeed, the Saints are just the eighth side ever to lose 10+ of their opening 12 matches of an English top-flight campaign.

So we are the 8th team since English football began to lose 10 of our first 12 games, just let that sink in. In 140 years of English top flight football , only 7 other teams have had a worse start than us. So how on this fucking earth is our manager still in a fucking job. It’s absolutely bloody scandalous and just proves that these owners would rather risk our premier league status to satisfy their own egos. A total disgrace and I won’t be giving this club a penny of my money until this utter clown of a manager is removed from his post.

Crazy thing is, Cooper gets the sack at Leicester with a much better record than Martin. Whilst are dumbass owners believe all the shit that Martin trots out each week. SR are just as culpable as Martin for this shitshow.

I would say they’re more culpable.  Martin won’t change, but the board have the power to change him.

Today demonstrated that the players have enough ability to give a bloody go at staying in this league. Unfortunately this absurd passing the ball around at the back will ensure we will be well short. Can Russell Martin not see that! I am an idiot and I can see it.

Surely the great guru of the game, Ankerson can see the short comings of this flawed system that generates tension at the back and limits attacking options up front.

We were better today but still conceded three against an off form liverpool

I can’t see him being here at the end of the season whatever crap SR come out with about ten year plans, but it will be interesting to see how many games will we lose before he is sacked because we are going to lose a lot between now and the end of the season if he stays

How RM can still be in a job tomorrow is baffling?!

Sports Republic need to grow a set and make the change before it’s a lost cause

It already is a lost cause unfortunately... They needed to do it in the international break at the absolute latest and should have done it before that!

I’m frustrated because I’d like to see us do better, obviously. But I’m also realistic in that I didn’t expect it to be too much different and even more so when you consider our lack of quality in certain areas. I’m also not using every single thing that happens as an excuse to wet myself with fury and have a pop at one particular bloke.

Yep. He also applauded the fans sarcastically when McCarthy knocked it out of play. He really is a bellend.

It means the pressure is getting to him and he is cracking. We don’t want his horrific slow keepball anymore than we wanted the full backs to launch it blind under Branfoot. Russell and his methods are being exposed for what they are. Rasmus next.

Seriously mate, are you related to Martin or something? You’re bizarrely defending the indefensible time and time again and to be honest you’re making a complete twat of yourself. Or maybe you love his beard or dress sense or something materialistic..,,Because It’s surely not football related, as anyone with even half a clue about football can see he’s doing a terrible terrible job as manager of this football club. Bizarre that you continue to defend him.

He is right though. The few times we actually should have kept our heads and then rushed forward as a team with the ball, we booted it back to them.  And then when we had opportunities to hit players long, we tapped it round the back.

I think it is mainly that we are not as good as the teams we are playing.

Would put a vote in for cooper now he is free, he would be much more exciting to watch.

We didn’t concede. We got the ball away from our goal area & defended properly. So what if we didn’t get the ball back for 6 mins, we didn’t fucking concede.

It’s almost like Russ, and a few on this forum, have completely forgotten what the actual fucking purpose of football is. Bizarre.

What a tosser. I actually think I dislike him more than Nathan Jones which I didn’t think was possible.

With every game that goes by S.R. Are basically sticking two fingers up to every match going fan, knowing that their hard earned money is going to waste watching us lose, whilst they arrogantly refuse to take action on this charlatan managing the team.

Can’t wait for next summer and all the “scar tissue” we have to work through. Absolutely buzzing to watch this squad get decimated and have to start again. All because we persevered with legohead and his squad of mates for too long.

How disgustingly toxic this is becoming. All centered from one man's arrogance.

Anyone seen Fab29 and Gio in the same room? Would explain a lot.

I think we need to sack Lego, employ Cooper and market the second half of the season as ‘Beauty and the Beast - due to public demand the Director’s Cut at last’. Right now I’d take the ghost of Tommy fucking Cooper!

He looks like a goblin but I don’t care. Actually has a far superior record to Martin and without the Leicester/Forest rivalry as a drag anchor would be fine.

I disagree. If we passed it forward and used the height of Tall Paul, the speed of Archer and the creativity of Lallana and Dibling then we would score goals. Defensively I think we are better than last season but create our own issues by passing around at the back. I believe we are a good team if we did things right.

I am not a fan of Cooper  I thought last season Leicester were fantastic when they thumped us home and away (helped of course by Martin's refusal to change his tactics) but under Cooper were poor when we played them.

But it’s not true, is it. Factually there were some cheers, but it wasn’t all 30,000 was it. Way to insult a bunch of people for doing nothing.  I assume he didn’t at the same time criticize his captain for wasting the entire final minute with his idiotic challenge and spat with Salah? Thought not. Pick on the fans as a soft touch no matter how unreasonable.

Secondly, if we can’t gain a ball back after 6 minutes maybe something is wrong with packing the team full of backwards passers rather than anyone who can press or tackle? Not that it was 6 minutes obviously.

Thirdly, assuming he’s talking about Suguwara’s punt up the touchline when he was surrounded by 4 Liverpool shirts (you could see him having a tantrum at him on the touchline) it was the right f*cking decision anyway. He could have pulled off the hugely risky pass and got us up to the dizzy heights of the halfway line I guess but it was 90% odds we lost the ball in a dangerous position and conceded another good chance. There are times to risk it, but even in the last 10 minutes there are times you clear your lines.

Maybe that is a bizarre British mentality. Or maybe the vast majority of us have watched enough football to have a vague idea of what is likely to be successful and know this isn’t it. And maybe it’s my British mentality that can see through the utter drivel he talks, time and again. I didn’t cheer the clearance, BTW.

When the ref went over to book one of his coaching staff (don’t think it was RM but might have been) I noticed RM continued the argument with the 4th official to the point he wasn’t looking at the game when it restarted. Sums him up - completely futile, unproductive, childish, ineffective behaviour to make himself feel better, while ignoring his bl00dy job.

His behaviour, is egotistical and unproductive

His football is egotistical and unproductive

As a football manager he is egotistical and unproductive.

I felt genuinely sorry and embarrassed for Nathan Jones. He was clearly out of his depth and struggling with it. For that reason I was reluctant to join the abuse towards him in the stadium.

Martin on the other hand has in my view enjoyed a charmed life at Saints, on the back of more articulate interviews and promotion. But he has brought the failures on himself with style of play, and deserves all the abuse coming his way for his refusal to adapt.

Rasmus also - on par with Lowe when it comes to deserving the flak. Just a shame we don’t have the fan base to deliver it nowadays.

Honestly think it's more down to financial consequences more than anything why Martin isn't sacked, I'd guess we would be looking at a decent payout + new manager salary which when we were already at the psr limit before the season began means the board are hamstrung.

I suspect it’s more that none of the preferred options want to go near the job.
