No matter how you dress it up we let in too many goals and score too few. To have zero shots on target against a very poor Wolves side in a crucial game is not acceptable and shows just how ineffective Russball is. If you can't get a shot on target playing tippy-tappy propaganda football then maybe it's time to take a good long look in the mirror and admit your limitations and accept that you'd be better off employing route one football with a big guy up front, two fast wingers and aim to get the ball forward as fast and as often as possible. It would be less ugly than what we are seeing at the moment and a darn sight more effective.

Thank fuck for that. Close the door on your way out.

I've never been a fan of playing a big guy upfront and just trying to put crosses in but you're right, we'd certainly create more than we do now.

In fact you can play direct football without the need for a big guy upfront. Brentford are banging in the goals playing fast direct football with 5 ft 9 Yoanne Wissa up top.

No I'm basing this of football fans now a days now actually being supportive or loyal. The last Saints manager to be actually backed was Adkins. By backed I mean stood by when things wern't great.

As a fan you want what's best for and are loyal to the club, not the manager. This season this manager is not good for the club and so is not deserving of any loyalty. Even if you think he was the reason for last season it's now history, it's the present that counts

The blokes a fucking cock. He was a cock last year when he got us promoted and he’s a cock this year when he’s failing miserably. The helmet needs to go, he’s sucking the joy out of football. To have 0 shots on target in a relegation 6 pointer is criminal, to then bang on about limiting their shots is fucking deluded. The sooner the prick fucks off the better, he’s as bad as Jones on the pitch and he’s a bigger knob head off it. Arrogant twat.

Ok, enough's enough Lord D. You need to stop holding back with subtle hints and tell us what you really think about Lego Head.

We had as many shots on target against Man City as we had against Everton and Wolves combined, ( 2 ). In 270 minutes of football we had a total of 4 shots on target, ( though probably approaching 1500 passes ).

Tsk. That could have been 1504 passes, had the players not wasted a pass by shooting.

Other way around.

Liverpool was an ok performance, Lincoln was unconvincing. Brighton on Boxing Day was a disgrace and it disintegrated from there.

Why would any clubs fans NOT welcome any manager appointed??

Because it was clear from day 1 that it was a fucking horrendous appointment, as many of us mentioned. And so it proved.

You’re right, I got the first two the wrong way around. Brighton was Boxing Day and Gavin’s nightmare in front of the cameras.

Jones, Selles or Russ - who’s the worst?

What a damning indictment of Sports Republic. A complete and utter shit show.

To answer the question - Selles is a distant third. Not good enough but that wasn’t his fault. Jones in second as he was an absolute loon but at least brought some comedy value. Russ meanwhile, is an arrogant prick who thinks he’s managing Russell Martin FC. A clear winner.

Our recent record at Molineux is pants - expect nothing other than a loss there. Obviously we will lose next weekend. That leaves the Everton game. Possibly a draw at best now they've picked up some form. 1 point surely wouldn't be enough to save him.

I think most of us can agree he'll more than likely be sacked come the next international break, which will leave everyone questioning why they left it so long, given the writing was pretty much on the wall.

Def not Selles. He inherited a basket case that was already down. Did his best, seemed to broadly have support despite out of his depth.

Jones the worst. Complete cunt of a man and pissed away any chance we had of staying up with a pathetic spell during the World Cup break.

Russ gets some kudos for his promotion but as said elsewhere many times, we had such a good squad it would have been utter failure to not go up. Proving this season that he is not up to this level and never will be.

You need medical help mate. You’re not the full ticket. Football clearly isn’t for you, the way you’re getting so offended by football fans being football fans. We are far from the worst for inpatience and volatility, we are actually one of the most passive. But you crack on, being all precious about fans not lapping up and applauding poor decision after poor decision that this club has made. West Ham fans have invaded the pitch and physically threatened their owners for far less. Maybe hop on their forums and preach to them about what being a super duper fan is all about.

Friend of mine from Swansea did a Postgrad at Pompey Uni and rented a house around the Goldsmith Ave area. Heard booing at the final whistle most weeks and said it reminded him of home.

Makes you wonder why we signed Tall Paul.

ive said this a thousand times, we probably had the best championship squad last season before he came in and he almost screwed that up with a horrendous style that never suited our players, we were promoted due to a few individual players that were just too good for that league.

Whilst I think it's time for Martin to go I can't agree with this. The team he inherited was absolutely broken.  Morale was at rock bottom after a horrendous PL season, anybody with any quality was sold (Clyne excepted), and basically the team has to be completely remodelled, which Martin did.

Could we have done even better last year, absolutely.  But before the season started nobody was thinking we had a squad to walk the league, and most of us would have thought promotion via playoffs would be an amazing success.

He's been found wanting this season but let's not act like he didn't do a great job last season.

As bizarre as that signing may seem, he is now possibly the only striker to panic the opposition. How damning is that of recruitment since ?

How would he be if we made him the focal point and gave him the service he needs and stick BBD alongside. I think that might well rattle a few cages.

I think this particular train has hit the buffers.

The possession game has been well and truly found out this season and so has Russell Martin. We need a manager who coaches high speed counter-attacking, with shots at goal, not possession, as the main objective. If we continue to play the possession game this season and next, we are just going to continue losing.

I do think Russell's time is up, I like the guy but it's just not happening. I caveat that with the fact we have BBD, Armstrong, TP and Archer as our striking options so whoever was to come in is going to struggle to get a tune out of that lot. I think though that a change is needed, possession for possession sake is pointless if it ain't working, and it isn't. I have heard a rumour (do not shoot the messenger) that the board is now split and the feeling is more towards him going than staying - which wasn't the case very recently. This could all be bollocks though, you know what pub chat is like.

Plus I'm not sure slagging everyone off for not supporting the manager and then mocking the likely result if we do support and keep this manager is quite the mic drop it was meant to be...

I do worry that SR are committed to keeping him for the "5 year project" regardless of how embarrassing this season is. It's been said before that the aim is to be in the Prem at the end of said 5 years and going up/down in the interim doesn't change that. Bloody hope not.
