What’s totally mad is that we have gone from the best club in the south coast and a shining light of doing things differently, getting good results and plaudits to the 3rd best club on the South coast and a running joke with everyone.

When Adkins was sacked everyone was up in arms but Poch’s appointment was a stroke of genius and with in the 1st week there was a massive difference from the players.

It can be done we have proved that before, I don’t believe that the current board have the knowledge or balls to do it.

So, he's actually setting aside his principles and is attempting to win a game? Pretty radical, the man is just a misunderstood genius. That's the sort of insight that sets him apart from all of the plebs. We are so fortunate to have him.

However, if we win the game and don't achieve higher possession percentage than Villa, I am not sure that would be ethically acceptable, I would feel very conflicted and somewhat dirty.

In Russ we trust.

Our execs should look at what Bournemouth are doing, shut themselves in a dark room and have a long hard talk to themselves about how the fuck they've messed it up here so bad.

There is no way Bournemouth should be light years ahead of us given the respective sizes/structure, but that's been allowed to happen because of the biggest load of incompetence I've ever seen.

Bournemouth were similar to us in that they bounced back from the Champ, they didn't' run away with it, Parker was questioned a bit etc. They acted quickly when Parker started to flop at this level and the rest was history. They also acted quickly and decisively when they ditched O'Neil, who by all accounts was doing a decent job, but they identified the need to do better. It was similar to when we ditched Adkins.

We just sit on our hands for way too long, so indecisive due to them not wanting to be seen as getting it wrong (but they're making it worse). Stubborn execs and a stubborn manager is an absolute recipe for disaster. In a way they're all suited to each other, but not for the benefit of the club they're working for. That's how it feels to me anyway.

I don't agree with that at all, we have spent a fortune under SR. It'll probably be around £250m come the end of January.

That is enough money to have built a very competitive PL side.

Bournemouth's key players are Senesi - £10m signing, Kerkez was £13m, Kluivert was under £10m, Semenyo was under £10m.

You've just looked at their striker Evanlison at £40m, but that's not really half of the picture.

It all boils down to using the resources you have well. We didn't. That's allowed Bournemouth to overtake us which shouldn't ever happen.

Shall we have a look at that quote in full context so at least when people get angry about it, they do it knowing the point he was making.

Does their run of one win in nine matches represent an opportunity?

RM: I think every game is an opportunity. Every game is one we have to try and win because of the position we're in.

We're not here to try and grind results out or try and grab a draw away from home because it's not enough for us. We need to try and win games and quickly.

Every game presents opportunity, however that looks. It's an opportunity for us to win a game of football and put in a performance that we are happy with.

How the fuck is this charlatan still here? Honestly!

Just watching Sky Sports news as they report on the West Ham board having a very public meeting to discuss their managers future with the agreement if they lost to Wolves and he’s gone, with they club currently sat in 14th. There’s Sports Republic however, with their heads in the sand blindly allowing this shit show to continue as we sit rock bottom, already cut adrift with things only to get worse.

Grinding out results is EXACTLY what teams in our position need to be doing, and what the fans demand. He appears to be saying that he would rather lose playing his possession game, than win ugly.

I'm honestly beginning to believe that they're content to be relegated this year, taking money from being in the Premier,  selling off a few more players, then thinking they can use those profits and parachute payments to bounce back up again.

Of course life rarely works out how you want. And football hardly ever does!

Literally no sane person could say they're enjoying getting beaten every week, then send the team out to do the same thing that's not worked any other time before and claim they're improving.

Taken from the BBC site RM is quoted as saying:

  Quote
  • He said "it was a tough night" on Wednesday against Chelsea but it was also probably their best start to a game all season.

  • More on the Chelsea defeat: "We conceded rubbish goals. We have to improve that, but it was a good game and it was toe to toe. We had good chances but when you are down to 10 men it's tough."

Expand

Now it might have been taken out of context in that he was talking of the early stages of the match, but otherwise he's clearly deluded and can't really expect others to believe it was a good match, and toe to toe.

I don't think it's out of context. He said it after the match on Wednesday as well, but to me it just further highlights his delusion. For a club like ours, with the limited squad we have, to even consider trying to go toe to toe with top clubs like Chelsea/Liverpool/City, is just madness. Sure, we might have a 10 minute spell where we look like we can hurt them, but their superior quality will ALWAYS win out, especially once we've gifted them a couple of goals from our suicidal passing around at the back.

If we try and play these teams at their own game, we will lose... Every. Single. Time. It's as simple as that.

In a nutshell.

Poor recruitment was Ralph's undoing in my view, and it hasn't helped Lego either, although he manages to compound it by his insistence on pissing around at the back, selections, and it seems a lack of fitness among the squad.

I'm all for changing the manager, but to reap any real benefits the club has to get its recruitment right.

Yep, the PR person who lurks on here had been upstaged with you posting that. They thought they’d got one over on 🦆 by presenting what seemed like fuller quotes but the BBC ones showcase the full level of delusion that Russell though we competed with Chelsea for most of the match. Don’t even get me started on the Stephens comments. Doesn’t have a clue about people management, let alone basic organisation, tactics or transfers, what is he actually bringing?

And how many times have we conceded rubbish goals (his own words) since August 2023 as a direct result of his Dirge of the Light Brigade tactics, pure as the driven snow bringing the ball out from the back? A good third of last season’s horrific 60+ conceded and at least 15 this season alone. And we are not even at Christmas yet.
