Be patient, it's all part of the process. In about 5 or 6 years we'll have perfected it, and will then be able to pass sideways our way into the opponent's net. All 92 teams in the league will look enviously at us passing other National League teams to death. Rasmus will finally be hailed as a genius.

Rasmus has already hailed himself a genius, that’s all he needs. He wouldn’t expect anyone else to understand his genius

You have an opportunity to ask the manager/Jason Wilcox a question, and yours is about fist bumping the crowd........

It’s actually a lot deeper than that Alex.

The question strikes right at the very heart of the “ bravery” heading that RM wishes our team to abide by.

IF our performance is inadequate then what usually happens is they get off the pitch fast as possible. Then in interview online or on tv RM or a player will say sorry we will try harder / do better/ stat faster- keep our heads up next time. And rinse and repeat. When we win it’s the fist bumps which we respond to loudly and positively.

My question - and it’s a follow up which I will not post here - is that The players after poor match may well get behind closed doors bollockings from RM. RM himself may be getting behind closed doors bollockings from his boss (es).

Bollockings from the fans happen at the match - some abusive and out of order - others fair criticism. But it all can fester for weeks in international breaks like this.

If the players & RM were able to show more connection to the support more often - and we believed it was genuine not token - and especially after a bad match when we need it most - then I hope the overall atmosphere at SMS and away might improve. Better atmosphere will help us win more matches. Players will get EPL salaries next year. Everyone including players and RM suck it up and get the support onside is my message.

The players probably laugh-off fans and we likely feature as gormless idiots in their whatsapp group.

I notice they never come out and suggest we go over the top when we win.......Lots of cheers when we beat QPR at home, they appear to not have an issue with that (when we should be beating QPR at home)

When players get booed and V signs from the fans as they did after the 'boro match it is not surprising that they do not salute the fans or regard them as "gormless idiots".

exactly...so using an opportunity to ask for more fist-bumping will probably spark much hilarity on their whatsapp group

You may well be right Alex. It’s a cynical world. If I was a player I’d know where my bread was buttered but I’d also be smart enough to keep my private opinions of some supporters to myself or private groups.

What makes some of the  support and probably them the players so cynical is that it’s either feast or famine. One bad performance away from being called a c un t out there or one good performance away from three fist bumps to the Northam.

Maybe we close that gap a bit introduce little bit more trust and even more unconditional support - but in return get delivered performances and if not then at minimumgenuine remorse and proper apology from Manager and the team

That’s what used to wind me up about Ralph. Giving it the old Klopp pony when we won and skulking down the tunnel when we lose. Lego is going down that route as well. That fucking wobbling your hands pony is fucking Noddy. Win lose or draw away from home come over & give a quick clap to the guys who have travelled, and at home fuck off down the tunnel until we’ve actually won something or it’s the last game.

Agreed, that gets on my tits, not just with us but how it's being done through the game especially with trophy presentations (not that we need to worry about that for a while).

With Ralph you felt it was something he had brought with him from Germany. Complete  bollocks and no excuse at the end of the game for "Lego" to do it.

Lord Duckhunter. I’ve only just noticed, not sure when you did it but loving the Lego head just brilliant.

Doesn't look like the Russell Martin tactical doctrine memo has reached the lower echelons of the academy yet... ;)

Started off well, with the pass out from the goalkeeper. After that the 80 pass move falls apart. But it will be a warning and an opportunity for the under-11s to step up into the gap created from the dismissed rest of the under-12s. 🙂

Honestly, why don’t we play like this?

Started the same as the First Team, pass out from the keeper to a central defender, then to a wide full back. The difference after that though is that the players seemed to know what to do, were capable of some incisive passing, and more importantly had a deadly finish. i am sure that is what the 'grown ups' are supposed to be doing... they maybe just aren't quite as skilled!

Great goal.

Passes 3 & 4 are exactly what we’re missing every single game

..and the shot on target at the end of it, of course.

Look at how awful and boring that football is.  Why can't they "GET IT FORWARD" instead of passing to each other, would be much more enjoyable.

Today was disappointing. Fluffy hair, green pullover over a white shirt under a jacket, looked more history teacher than Arne model ☹️

Very pleased he’s seemingly turning it around. I was a big time backer of RM since I saw how different our play was in pre-season and was confident it was the positive injection we needed after years of decline. That said, I was concerned during the four match losing streak and not afraid to hold my hands up and fear the worse. It looked unsalvageable. Rotherham was another worry despite playing them off the park. Now we’re back up to fifth without playing our best. Encouraging - imagine how good we’ll be once we start cooking with gas?

Seemingly there's less weird comments about his hair since we started winning.

He’s certainly silenced a few critics the past couple of weeks, really sorted it out….I don’t know what it is, maybe a new shampoo or moisturiser, perhaps he’s changed stylist, long my it continue.

It did make me laugh hearing him yesterday talking about the "journey" the fans have been on.  I'm so used to hearing metaphorical management speak that it's quite strange to hear journey being used properly.

Still Martin out on Facebook. Something to do with him acknowledging the fans too much or something...

Look,let’s be honest,we are shite.
so unimpressive going forward. If we actually bother to attempt it.
A disaster waiting to happen at the back.
completely being mismanaged.
somehow we are squeaking the odd favourable result.

we are serving up mid table bollocks.
which won’t change.
will we get promotion?….unbelievably we fucking might.
but we are utter crap. So disappointing to see what we are serving up.

This season is going as expected.

Flat track bullies. The quality of player is what is largely doing if for us, against bottom half teams. 1 win against a team in the top 10 at the time of writing

Oh, we have the worst defence in the division

Russell Martin's RAWA!!!

Just came on here to reassert my opinion that I am not having him whatsoever. He ain't good enough. We've got a top 3 squad and we're scraping last minute draws and wins against teams with incomparably weaker squads and resources. Night all.

I don't see any signs that he knows what he's doing. Every game is littered with mistakes most of which are caused by playing in panic because we have no shape or proper movement. He's not taking us to a higher level at the current rate.

One thing I’d say in defence of RM , like Ralph, is that he has been let down by poor recruitment in particular of a striker.

Preferably one fit enough to play and make an impact immediately, not after six months rehabilitation.

This in a nutshell. I think any half competent manager would have us in the play offs at this point in time. He's a middle of the road manager, nothing more, nothing less.

The striker issue is out of his hands, granted. The terrible organisation/lack of structure through the side is down to him, though.

We are 5th?

I am not 100% convinced but find it quite amusing how negative people are on here about him.

I was gutted when we went behind, telling the TV we would never equalise and having a good moan then.

But he as at least turned the bad run of 4 defeats into 5 unbeaten, and 4 points from last two away games.

He ain't that bad!

You can’t tell me Che Adams isn’t good enough to play in a top championship side, when he goes it’ll be to the premier league. If he was playing for Preston, Ipswich, Hull, I’ll bet my life he’d be playing better. He’s not great, but he’s nowhere near as bad as Lego’s set up makes him look. Same with Adam Armstrong. Those 2 up front with Sully & Frasier wide are perfectly good enough to play at this level. It’s the set up and style of play that’s the issue, they can’t all be shite.

Yeah, I was trying to get at that someone better than just a mediocre manager would have us closer to the top two, just worded it badly.

Adams has gone off the boil completely since the transfer window closed, that is obvious.

I don't think he's a bad player at all, his head just isn't in it and it's massive problem because we've got sod all else.

We've seen Adam Armstrong up top and he's useless in that position.

We are very likely to make the play offs.

This will be despite the manager not because of him.

He's a non entity promoted far beyond his ability.

That’s part of management, getting their head in the right place. If Neil Warnock walked in tomorrow, I bet he’d buck up.

As for Armstrong, he’s useless on his own up top, but that wasn’t what I suggested. In a 2, with the side set up properly, he’d do ok
