Pamplemousse Posted 14 May, 2023 Posted 14 May, 2023 Hopefully now the inevitable has happened we'll see a team play with freedom. Or we'll see a team playing to put themselves in the shop window.
AlexLaw76 Posted 14 May, 2023 Posted 14 May, 2023 Why would anything change? Same as, Mo in/around the team, AMN to start....usual stuff 1
Saint Matty 76 Posted 14 May, 2023 Posted 14 May, 2023 Looking forward to everything outside of the 90 minutes of football. Get a couple of the young lads in the squad for winning their league for fuck sake Ruben. 3

The Kraken Posted 14 May, 2023 Posted 14 May, 2023 Would be great if Tino could get some minutes before the end of the season, though from what I’ve read it sounds like me unrealistic to expect anything more than a cameo appearance. Definitely need to start filling the bench with some of the kids, even if it’s only to given them 10-15 minutes at the end of a game. Also make sure players who are definitely staying are involved, we can give up on the likes of Theo and Elmo. 3

Chucking a bunch of kids who aren’t ready on for 20 minutes, at the end of another 0-5 and watching them get booed off at the end is of no help to anyone. Let the useless players who’ve played the other 36 games deal with it and start fresh in August. 6 1

Let the useless players who’ve played the other 36 games deal with it and start fresh in August. For Tino, not much for him, just would be nice for fans to see him get back on a pitch and come out of it unscathed. I don’t think he’ll be risked though. For the kids, there’s absolutely nothing to be lost by getting them involved with the first team squad. Nothing to lose at all, and if anything it might actually give them a little bit of a feel good factor after a year where we’ve had a bloated squad and very little sight of the youngsters. As reported by the athletic and various other outlets there’s been concern that the path to the first team squad has just not materialised, we’ve spent huge amounts on players and some of those signings have just ended up going training with the kids. So if it gives the kids just the tiniest bit of reassurance then I don’t see it as a bad thing personally. 3
The Cat Posted 14 May, 2023 Posted 14 May, 2023 I imagine the away end will be quite fun so am looking forward to that part of it and a few beers.

jawillwill Posted 14 May, 2023 Posted 14 May, 2023 If we politely clap loud enough could we get the game abandoned to save the embarrassment? https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/65591769 1

stknowle Posted 14 May, 2023 Posted 14 May, 2023 (edited) Despite being completely and utterly shit all season we haven't copped for a real battering in terms of goals conceded. Yet. Just saying. Edited 14 May, 2023 by stknowle

We were all planning for the Saturday but few of us pulled out as trains terrible. if Brighton beat Newcastle on Thursday and hope they do then will be more than happy to be giving them another 3 points. Long shot but be brilliant if they got a CL spot

No, don't make him return to the scene of the crime for his first game back. That pitch has got a taste for his blood.
beatlesaint Posted 15 May, 2023 Posted 15 May, 2023 (edited) I wouldnt be picking any of these twats who have referred to the club as "they" in their bounce back statements, especially not JWP who, as captain, should never use the word "they" to describe anything to do with Southampton FC. andrew7610 Posted 15 May, 2023 Posted 15 May, 2023 Brighton don't deserve a place in Europe if they concede so much as a throw-in against our shower of shit. 1 4
hasper57saint Posted 15 May, 2023 Posted 15 May, 2023 Bit too early for the Shitehawks match but its been suggested we lob a few toilet rolls up at the Directors box for the final Home game to help them wipe away some of the shit!

SaintTex Posted 15 May, 2023 Posted 15 May, 2023 Would be a wonderful cap to the season if we bring Tino back the last two games and he scores 2 goals and an assist, and PL club get reminded of his quality and start inquiring.
Killers Knee Posted 15 May, 2023 Posted 15 May, 2023 Send the B team to the beach already, time off for good behaviour. 1st team should be cleaning the stadium toilets after home games. But we should give the wankers the opportunity to find bigger fools than us, and let them play for a move. 1
OttawaSaint Posted 15 May, 2023 Posted 15 May, 2023 Elyounoussi hattrick and the club give him a big expensive contract! 1
Daft Kerplunk Posted 16 May, 2023 Posted 16 May, 2023 Having thought about it, perhaps this should be the time to just let the youngsters enjoy the experience of no expectations and show people what they’re capable of. Drop all the shit players who are leaving, although that would leave less options I guess! However, Selles will still be trying to show that he’s up to the job so expect two banks of five to stop us conceding early, before conceding and getting absolutely tonked. Silver lining would be Brighton being closer to finishing above Spurs in the table. 1

Saint Garrett Posted 16 May, 2023 Posted 16 May, 2023 I'd go with: Bazunu Bree Bednarek Lyanco KWP JWP Lavia Sulemena Alcaraz Edozie Adams
Baird of the land Posted 16 May, 2023 Posted 16 May, 2023 I'll repeat what i said ahead of Fulham game My hopes. AMN not in the squad. Several of B team on the bench, ideally 1 of them in the team. 1
Patrick Bateman Posted 16 May, 2023 Posted 16 May, 2023 Saints will win 7-0, the players will turn up and play like Messi to get in the shop window for the summer. "Look at me, I'm awesome, it's everyone else that was rubbish". 😡 1
the saint in winchester Posted 16 May, 2023 Posted 16 May, 2023 I don't think they will exert themselves at all. They will stroll around, everything too much effort, take a pasting, blame the owners, grumble about 'slipping standards' and check their bank balances on the helicopter home.
Tom & Gerry Posted 16 May, 2023 Posted 16 May, 2023 At least away from home there is a chance that we might score a goal.
LaptopSaint Posted 16 May, 2023 Posted 16 May, 2023 I think we should just go for it. Bazunu Bree Bednarek KWP Lavia Mara Edozie Ballard TallPaul Alcaraz Sulemana 1
