I can’t say that someone standing in a free, democratic election being physically harassed in public is something we should particularly celebrate. I’d rather we left that to the Russians, personally. Plus it’s totally counterproductive, Farage will basically just say, "oh look, the tolerant left are at it again," and his popularity will probably step up another notch.

Clearly false flag staged by Reform member. GB News and MSM will no doubt report it otherwise to all you sheep.

He made a jokey twitter post along the lines of "milkshakes bring everyone to the party".  Just the right way to deal with it tbf

Depends whether its a euphemism or not. If so Truss is bound to win, based on her track record.

It was just a milkshake for Christ sake. Far worse happened to Jo Cox. Farage will lap up the attention like the attention seeking narcissist  he is and will put the dry cleaning bill in as expenses. Cheap publicity.

Anyone in clacton deluded enough to vote for the useless grifter that is Farage deserves everything they get.  He clearly has no interest in the area of the people and is just using them to further his own personal interests and milk a few more quid from the terminally dumb.  Listening the MEP with on of the worst attendance records in history spout about the difference he made in that forum is galling and the fact hundreds show up to lap it up is embarrassing.

still less votes and less seat for the Tory party do even the Farage cloud has a silver lining!

This is an object being thrown at a candidate for an election. Why should that happen to anyone looking to be elected? Why should it happen to anyone at all? He's targeted because of his views. What if was a politician you backed? Or who had a certain background, race or belief?

That's not even beginning to link it with other abuse, or speculating about this encouraging others to throw other things, or take more extreme action.

Hard to imagine that girl is anything other than a paid extra, or a reform plant surely?  Occam's razor and all that.

Hard to imagine any other motive for it, it's the right's version of Ed davey falling in the sea.

If it was someone SOG liked or backed then he would be outraged that the far right were behaving like this. The hypocrisy of this imbecile is off the scale

Yep, don’t agree with throwing things at politicians in a democratic society, but yeah, laughing it off is the best option as he’s done.

My favourite reaction was from Arnie when egged out and about: ‘that guy owes me bacon’. Excellent.

So you can’t imagine someone being an immature idiot, chucking a milkshake at a politician she doesn’t like?

Exactly. He thinks it’s funny when it happens to Nigel, but had someone chucked anything over Abbott, Corbyn or Raynor we’d have a 1,000 word post on it. It’s totally unacceptable to behave like this towards any politician regardless of who they are. It’s just another example of the dumbing down of politics in this country. People moan about the calibre of politicians, then wonder why decent folk don’t stand for election.

Prescott had the best response when he chinned the twat. Shame one of Nigel’s female followers didn’t do the same here.

Pretty certain that the Occam's Razor interpretation is that someone who doesn't like Farage chucked a milkshake at him.

Which is exactly what happened.

Bird on the left has denied she’s bird on the right though.

99% sure that is the same person. Same nose, lips and cheeks, and look at the ridge on her forehead where it meets her eyebrow.

Can't really tell much from the woman in the red dress, that's just generic Instagram face. You pretty much just click a button and every woman on there looks like that. She appears to have the same bracelet on her right hand, although that's hardly conclusive.

I didn’t say it was ok, I put it into some context.

Do I think it is ok to throw things at MPs?  No.

Did I think this was funny?  Absolutely.

Do I think it could be a publicity stunt!  Possibly.

Everyone pumped up for the debate? I think we will hear ‘plan’ and ‘no plan’ over twenty times

We are very clear, unprecedented, Covid, Putin, dangerous times, safe with us, Labour unfunded with no plan, something about Wales, we're smashing the gangs, plan is on course, union paymasters, more money into NHS, waiting lists down, nasty doctors, fastest growing economy, we've never had it so good, more police and teachers, plans working, can I have a smaller lectern?...

Yawn.

Turns out the blonde young lady who threw a milkshake over Farage in Essex today is a blonde young lady* from Essex.

Tell me more about Occam's Razor.

Sunak tweeting while he debates. Coming across terribly IMO -tetchy and constantly interrupting. Host weak as always and not putting him in his place. Starmer far more composed

Made the mistake of watching the debate for a bit.

Moderator absolutely dreadful, worst of the three. Sunak quite obviously talking over everybody cos he’s a chippy little prick and that’s all he’s got. Starmer quite obviously just sticking to sound bites and going no risk.

Bloody awful television, certainly won’t be watching any more of it.

Sunak probably edged it for the win as far as I got but they both look ridiculous.

Starmer looks like a serious person when given the chance to speak but he’s not a great orator.

0-0 at half time...?

About right. Starmer uneasier, too easily pushed off the ball, I mean point. Caught out on the tax rises. Sunak weighed down by record, hoping last quarters figures do a lot of heavy lifting. Starmer got early applause. Sunak a little laughter, but came back to get some applause.

Agree and can’t believe how shit they consistently are. Allowing Sunak to do his public school interrupting. Her only brief is to keep control of that.

What a mess. Neither being given enough time to answer. Talking over each other. Starmer is spending too much time being empathic and not enough answering questions.

Trying to cram too much in. Perhaps they should have covered fewer subjects in more depth.
