Apologies I didn't know there was a thread already. Very much worth listening to this to remember happier times. Certainly shows what we are missing with our current group of players.

interesting comment.

Rickie said Adam Lallana was clearly the best player he played alongside in his time with Saints..

Clearly Brendon Rodgers over looked that fact when Liverpool signed both but seldom had them both on the pitch at the same time.

Their success with us was  due to their partnership, not their individual skills alone....

I just hope we can have it as good as the team we had with him and the rest one day, I love how passionate he still is for the club.

If half the players here now,had a fraction of Rickie Lamberts love and commitment to Saints when he was at the club,we would not be going down.

Yes we would, they're crap and badly managed. Commitment isn't the problem this season.

I would say that badly managed rather than crap. Too much chopping and changing with no settled pattern of play and no settled team.

As far as I'm concerned Rodgers signed Lambert as he knew he would come to his boyhood club, and it would make it more likely he would then sign Lallana. He never had any intention of playng SRL regularly and easily cut his career short by a season or two, something I will always hate the big nosed cunt for..

gone to Wigan as youth coach, we should of offered him a role.......

Depends where he's put down his roots but I agree, not quite on MLT's spectrum of outlandishness so would have liked to have seen him at the club in some kind of role.

We’ve missed a real trick here not getting him involved. I’d imagine that he would have jumped at it. We go on and on about our youth set up. The young lads would have looked up to him and SRL could also have had some involvement with the first team. It would have created some real goodwill with the fans and wouldn’t have cost the club huge money either. What a wasted opportunity. The board should get their heads out of their laptops (and their arses) and start to sort it out.

MLT has proven to be way more right than wrong.

You just have to accept you were lied to over covid...you're being lied to over climate change and the MSM and your own government can't be trusted.

Then things start to make sense.

Give Ricky some slack.. you never know.

Can’t wait to find out in a few years that Rudi Skacel is a flat earth enthusiast, or Shane Long strangles kittens, or Joe Aribo disputes the moon landings.

So you’re saying it’s a #7 thing?

Tomasz Hajto - Birds aren’t real

Kevin Phillips - Bought an abducted child from Wayfair

Andrei Kanchelskis - Chemtrails

Rickie reporting his alien sightings in Norway… proceeds to describe satellites. 🤣

My issue with these podcasts (is that what they are?) is that all the people are always on the same page, there is no one to challenge the views being said, so they all sit there fuelling the same narrative and then all say "yeah, we are right aren't we great".  Doesn't matter what you're talking about, all these online videos always have the same views and the same people agreeing with each other.  Vaccinations, socialism, CBD, transgender - doesn't matter, it appears views from people that challenge and ask questions are not welcome.

In years gone by, you'd be debating this in a room with differing views, doesn't matter if it's a debating society at university or sat in a pub with 6 mates with a broad spectrum of views, but someone would be there to say "are you sure you saw a UFO and not a satellite, look, here is why I think that".

This is the problem with social media and all this crap, it is not balanced and they all sit there agreeing with each other.  I'm pretty sure the views would be more balanced if someone was able to probe and challenge.  At least this forum (and forums in general) is still a little more old school and we can all call each other out to gain a broad agreement, clarity or consensus.

and we'd say "shut up you silly cunt, go and get a round in" and they say "yeah you're right, same again?" and they'd be rinsed for months if not years as "remember that time you thought you saw a UFO......."

In stark contrast to the two earlier efforts above, nearly every single line of this seems to fail to scan. Even slurring the words and speeding it up doesn't save it. Disappointing.
