Proud of what, exactly?

They've just let in 4 goals to a team in the bottom 3 of the league. There is nothing to be proud of, this team are an embarrassment to the City and the history of this club and will forever be remembered as our WORST ever top flight team, nothing even comes close.

Stick that in your trophy cabinet AMN.

Forest are a poor side, we gifted them goals and didn't match their fight or desire

To be fair, the three from open play were basically hit from the six yard box with only the keeper to beat. Maybe if Adams wasn't always rocked back on his heels like an old farmer remembering a historic drought, he might have scored a few like that himself this season.

I know it’s  not all about money. But everyone  keeps going on about some sort of imagined reset next season . Do people think the owners are going to suddenly say ‘Ok we’ve gone down a division..let’s start taking this seriously’ What are people basing this exciting reset on? I’m not trying to trick you, but why are are owners suddenly going to become less incompetent? 😊

At £80,000 per week, McCarthy is just more expensive shit. In fact, when Ward-Prowse leaves, he'll be the most expensive shit at the club. What makes it worse is that some random fan from the crowd, who'd play for nothing, would probably save more shots than he does.

100%

He spent the last 15 minutes camped on the halfway line and the only time he bothered running up the pitch was to take a corner.

If your midfielder doing that every game your gonna struggle no matter the league.

The decision being made leave me nervous for the summer, 100% - but I will just be happy that we won't have Diallo, AMN and co trying to play football for us next year. Dare I say it, I probably won't miss JWP's impression of a crab in open play either.

Agreed with Bednarek, he has been pretty decent since he returned. Wouldn't be the worst thing we could do in keeping him.

Don’t get the hate for JWP, he’s been a great player for us last few years. Imagine trying to captain the shower of shite he needs to lead. I really hope he’d stay but a decent manager who knows how to utilise him effectively will pick him up in the premier league and he’ll excel again, no doubt. Half the bellends slagging him off on this site probably have never set foot in st Mary’s. I hope the fans start turning on the fuckwits running our club at the Fulham game as this is the reason as to why we’re where we are.

Needs a clear out, decent manager, new board members and experienced coaching team in place for the start of pre season.

way to step on your dicks, Saints.

We win that game tonight and the table stands as below with 3 matches left:

Everton 32 (next match - City)

Leicester 30 (next match - Liverpool)

Leeds 30 (next match -  Newcastle)

Forest 30 (next match - Chelsea)

Saints 27 (next match - Fulham)

lots of losable matches for our rivals, but we cant win, so the argument is moot.. but still...

Edozie and Sulemana both were good, direct and looked like they would make things happen when they came on (as they do most times they play). It's almost as if Selles doesnt want us to win / score. Now we're relegated and he's pissed off the fans by playing this crap football and pissed off the better players by constantly overlooking them. Fun times.

Fair point, assuming the recruitment is realistic for the league we're in

I remember Tuchel explaining and dismantling RalphBall in a post match interview.

GIbbs-White said their plan was to press. But because we were retaining posession early on, they looked to just sit back a little, and then catch us on the break. Sure enough, we had a little flurry of looking like we could attack, but it was really Forest just dropiing back, to be a little more compact, while biding their time. We over extend and get done. Simple and we got suckered., even though we would surely know about the pace of the likes of Johnson. It's seeing how naive we are here, that makes sense of our managers consistently continuing with broken tactics for the rest of the season. They simply have no answers at all, and you wonder about the rigour of the process to bring them/ keep them at the club.

Yes, but we're paying that money whether he plays or not. I'm not suggesting either of them should be first choice next season.

I doubt very much that we will bounce back any time soon. Going to take one hell of a rebuild job to get us back up. Not looking forward to years and years of depressing mid table finishes in the Championship. Im 46, I wonder if I will ever see Saints in the top division ever again.

One period of play summed us up , we had a free kick just in our half, Bedanarek takes it passes to Lavia passes to Bk passes to Bednarek 3 passes and went absolutely nowhere.

Just go Selles your football is absolute shite. Poor squad no care ABK should never wear shirt again doesn’t want to be here at fault first 2 strolls back for first. Couldn’t be arsed second and gets off pitch ASAP slight niggle.

It’s club philosophy though come here 18 months and bugger off for profit why should they care

Writing has been on the wall this season has been a royal cluster fack of decision making.

Time for certain board members to look themselves in the mirror put the egos to the side and realise that they are not as amazing and clever as they think they are......

Time for a mass clearout on all levels starting at board level downwards time for a proper reset.

Get a new new manager, coaches and instill a football philosophy and set the standards across all levels....

We also need leaders on the pitch and a sprinkling of experience! lessons must be learnt and the youth simply cannot do it all they need guidance and mentorship!

He'll not be here next season. He threw the toys out of the pram to get a move before (except nobody would take him permanently) and he'll be onto his agent to get a move again. Hes an established Polish international, he will not be wanting to play in the second tier in the lead up to the Euros.

He can go for all I care. Very average CB along with the rest of them - Salisu (gave up a long time ago), ABK (always injured), Lyanco (crap), DCC (looks lost at PL level)

Only Jan, Lyanco, Stu, Alcaraz put in any kind of shift there. AMN rightly getting stick but how bad were Che, ABK and sad to say, JWP?

ABK is the by far the shittiest CB in our top flight history playing a decent number of games for Saints unlike Marshall or Davenport who were cameo/bit part although two bit as well. As someone else posted, heart of a pea and can’t wait to see the back of him as well as 80% of the other imposters. We’ve had some not great CBs but at least the rest tried to play more than 30 minutes and could play on with a chipped fingernail. As long as Lyanco can tolerate the broken finger, I’d rather see him last 3 games. The lad has some backbone at least.

Diallo - why is our worst ever top flight CM still appearing? At least Quashie could score the odd goal. Adam Armstrong - Ipswich cannot seriously think he’s better than Ladapo.

Che - give Ballard a game, didn’t compete all game. Their Centre Half May as well as read a Kindle all night.

He may not be captain material, but he cares about the club and without his contribution we would have been relegated last season and likely pushing Derbys record this season. He deserves a move to a mid table PL club and he'll get it (a move abroad might not be the worst idea - pace of Serie A would suit him)

Glad it's over now. If we'd have somehow scraped through this it would have been the same again next season. The rot would still be there.

The clear out starts tomorrow. We need players that can rebuild our shattered mojo and put some belief back into the battered fans.

We will need some serious healing before we get back into this league.

Sometimes its hard to know if the players are ok and the manager is terrible, or the manager is ok and the players are terrible, and then it dawns on you that both the players and manager is terrible and it all makes sense why we're on course to have the sixth lowest points total in Premier League history.
