Edmonton Saint Posted 21 April, 2023 Share Posted 21 April, 2023 Read in an article on The athletic this morning that Doyle might be leaving as he thinks he should be around the first team, and he’s not sure of the opportunities here. Not being rude but surely Doyle , Ballard and some of the other kids may be a better option than the dross we’ve seen up front this year ? At least the B-team and u18s seem to have a winning mentality and could transfer some youthful exuberance to the current incumbents. I swear to god seeing Elyounoussi , Armstrong and co pretend to be footballers on a weekly basis is depressing
The Kraken Posted 21 April, 2023 Share Posted 21 April, 2023 It doesn’t help the youngsters’ cause that our squad is too big (unfortunately it’s quantity not quality). For the Arsenal game we have AMN out as it’s his home club, Adams and Salisu are injured, and still the likes of Djenepo, Edozie and Mara can’t even make the matchday 20. Leaving out the youngsters, we’ve basically got a squad of 30 senior pros, almost all of whose have made at least 1 Prem appearance this season (Tino, big Willy and McCarthy haven’t). Next season in the championship would likely afford them a better chance of breaking through to the first team; where relegation puts us with them though, who knows.
