Saint NL Posted 13 April, 2023 Posted 13 April, 2023 • Bournemouth - Dafabet (online bookmaker) • Brentford - Hollywoodbets (online gambling firm) • Everton - Stake (online crypto casino and sports betting platform) • Fulham - W88 (betting firm) • Leeds - SBOTOP (sports betting firm) • Newcastle - Fun88 (online sportsbook and casino) • Southampton - Sportsbet (online gambling company) • West Ham - Betway (online gambling firm) A good thing imo. Not sure what that means financially though. 2
Chez Posted 13 April, 2023 Posted 13 April, 2023 ...we will be in the championship, so it wont effect us. Obviously the existing shirt sponsorship value will drop massively in the championship. 2
The Kraken Posted 13 April, 2023 Posted 13 April, 2023 “From the front” seems quite a pertinent statement. Wouldn’t be surprised gambling ads allowed on warm up tops and on matchday shirt sleeves… 2

Good thing for football though and the betting sites will easily find other media to take their money. 1
cloggy saint Posted 13 April, 2023 Posted 13 April, 2023 It's a step in the right direction I suppose but it will still be on all the hoardings around the pitch. 2
Wurzel Posted 13 April, 2023 Posted 13 April, 2023 Discussed on The Price of Football podcast. Front of shirt only, Big Six don't have gambling companies as main sponsors anyway as they can attract bigger fish, for the rest the sleeve sponsor will probably now attract a higher sponsorship fee than the shirt front.

Which is likely why it's happened so easily. 1
Ted Bates Statue Posted 13 April, 2023 Posted 13 April, 2023 Good to see none of the Big 6 have betting sponsors as their main shirt sponsor. Therefore it would only affect fodder clubs who don't really matter, and Newcastle who don't need the money anyway. And it's years away from happening, so no excuses to not find deals elsewhere (from other sponsors, or on other parts of the kit). Another morality win for the Premier League 😇 2
tdmickey3 Posted 13 April, 2023 Posted 13 April, 2023 We didn't get to vote as they know we wont be in the PL anyway
HarvSFC Posted 13 April, 2023 Posted 13 April, 2023 We're going to play in the Sky Bet Championship, anyway... 2
JRM Posted 13 April, 2023 Posted 13 April, 2023 Good news, now bring back a proper sponsor like LD Sports! 1 2
Daft Kerplunk Posted 13 April, 2023 Posted 13 April, 2023 When you see the damage betting does to vulnerable people (including footballers and people who are easily manipulated, which is plenty), this is about time. Betting, no problem, but these muthafucks make it way too easy for people to get in serious problems, and football just takes the money and hasn't given a shit for too long. 3
