McMillan is and always has been a complete and utter weirdo. Alongside Chuckles Chorley and Illingsworth, these pricks have been obsessed with putting themselves in the Saints limelight for years. The other common denominator is that they’re all as thick as fuck.

Doesn’t Chorley now do some weird porn show?

McMillan popped up again recently in the echo something about taxi drivers

i don’t mind Nick, he’s the best of them and at least he genuinely does love the club and would do anything for the fans, whereas the others I felt just loved the limelight

Havent seen him for years. Many years ago I used to think he was a myth, I heard so much about him from so many people but I never saw him. Then when I bought my first ever flat in central town, on my very first morning there I wandered out to the newsagent and there he was! Used to see him loads, same old ‘uniform’ of a massive grey double breasted suit, a significant limp, plus the every present cackle and sometimes a cry of “you nutter” for unknown reasons. Southampton legend. But yeah, the nickname probably needs work these days…..

There was a picture of him on Facebook recently he’s still about but when I left Southampton in 2013 hadn’t seen him for years

bang bang was still about back then but not sure if he still is

I last saw him a couple of years ago in Shirley. Same suit. I've never seen someone look so scruffy in a suit.

I think Perry McMillan is/was a (Unite?) rep for local Taxi Drivers.
He also ran a local (Weston based?) youth team, Sky Blues, named as such as they were the only team approached (Coventry) who helped provide a kit.
Nick is OK and has been a consistent Saints fan for many years.

Sorry to be late to the party in resurrecting this thread but anybody who uses Twitter really should give @SotonPubs a follow some great memories being served up there!IMG_0243.thumb.png.c73bfec5445118f516977a18593872a8.png

Juniper Berry re-opened and then shut again https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c252l0gylx4o and https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/23979920.juniper-berry-pub-closes-just-weeks-reopening/

That pub has traded under a few names and had a lively reputation in the 1970s/80s (before my drinking time). Asbestos is a pain in the arse commercially and/or residentially. Depends on the extent and type of the asbestos but Admiral Taverns should be able to afford to have it removed by a specialist firm per se unless the other repairs needed make it uneconomic, probably the roof which can be very pricey. Surprised it was offered for lease in that condition tbh. Usual calibre of comments on the Echo page!

Long list here of S Hants/Soton area pubs shut/closed that I’ve used over the years including the Platform (didn’t know about the fire), Waterloo Arms (was a lovely Hopback pub with a summer beer festival), Yacht Tavern (was in there after Sheff Utd great escape game 2008), and Roll Call in Butlocks Heath which is a large site. Variable pub. https://www.shantscamra.org.uk/beer/pubdata/survey/closedpubs.php

Albion closed opposite Winchester station, that used to be a good pub. Anchor in Test Lane shut this year too, did decent food early 00s.

Platform Tavern is open again now. Might pop there as I need a few drinks after flying today 💨 😂

That got back up and running quickly. I was told only a few weeks before it wasn't going to come back at all.

Thankfully it has. Too much history to lose there. And it’s so close to me! 😂 🍻

This is a great outcome from a horrible murder. I knew one of them and he's always been a complete and utter scummy prick.

Vile ugly and seemingly quite dim bunch of cunts. Most of them look like mutants

Great to see we are unveiling a statue of Paddington bear in the city. As one of the worlds most famous immigrants Paddington is a shining example of how welcoming the UK is to immigrants and that if you settle well you can not only fully integrate into British society but positively thrive here.

That furry boatbear scrounger has come over here to shit in our woods,, they give him a house, and a hat, name a station after him, all the while he's off his face on marmalade, OUR marmalade, living the high life on benefits and fucking our bears.

He's out there now, clogging up our vets, driving good British bees to extinction, before you know it we won't be able to say bear, this is just the furry end of the wedge, there will be rivers of honey...

Children's mayor has some serious flair in that unveil picture.

As a city of sanctuary, 100 percent agree, really positive and great to see.
