Well done Djenepo. He did well to stay on his feet. Even better to remember how to do one of those direct, attacking runs that has been all but banished from the team.

 

Pen? Normal service resumes, defenisvely to balance up that odd event of us having an effective attack.

Can't see them sticking with him. That's probably for the best. When we go down we need a total rethink. Lots of players will be off and so it's a chance to rebuild. I'm not sure I trust SR to do that properly though..

23 years ago at Wenbley in the 3rd tier playoff final, Gillingham 2-0 Man City after 89 minutes. City score twice in 5 minutes of added time and win on penalties.

Was a well taken goal by Mara. He's probably the closest we've got to a natural finisher at the club. 

Just needs to be much better without the ball and needs some teammates who will set up some chances for him.

Many folk being melodramatic about getting beaten by City. They are a different class to all the other teams bar maybe Arsenal. This game won’t send us down, we were never likely to get anything from this. 
If we do go down I don’t care who comes in or who stays but would like to see us actually play some decent football. Stop this pointless passing around the back four that doesn’t move the opponents whatsoever.

The Jones experiment screwed us over and that was our chance to stay up with the “preseason” during the World Cup. Ultimately though, it’s the failure to sign a striker that has been our downfall. Pelle was immense, Gabbiadini ok, Ings was good for a season and Che for a month or so but we needed a goal scorer and we got everything else but!

First half. I can see the plan. Play a false nine and cling to dear life. i don't like it but  If Sulemana wasn't poor it might have paid off. Spending 22M on him rather than recalling tella looking crazier by the minute. Had to at least make the keeper save the one on one(rather than tackling himself) & needs to cross the ball with his left foot rather than pass it out (just before they break and score the opener).

As for the goal. Bednarek standling deeper than anyone while marking no one (just poor). ABK's marking of Haaland wasn't good but no clue why Bedanrek hands him over rather than stick like glue to haaland himself.

No changes at Half-time confuses me completely too. The plan failed, they scored. Get Mara and djenepo on at HT.(the players who have actually scored against city this season). Just rolling on as if they hadn't scored is nuts.

Tella has proved his quality in the Championship,it's crucial we keep him next season

Every single decision the board or managers have made this year has been hilariously wrong.

It's like kitchen nightmares when Ramsay finds out the chef is putting strawberry jam on the shrimp. Stop trying to be clever and just make a simple delicious prawn cocktail.

he had a poor game last week, mis-controlling twice when we had great chances to break, but if he stops trying to nutmeg everyone all the time, I think there is a player in there. He might score the amount of goals we need next year. Someone will have to.

Adam Blackmore trying to take encouragement on Solent. Not sure what cloud he's on today but Saints easily beaten. The sooner the trap door closes on this relegation the better. No way are Saints going to win 4 games.

To me that's the frustrating thing. It was obvious Mara is more suited to this game (City) than he was to (west Ham) away. Play Onachu against West Ham and Mara here.

al our CBs have been poor this season. Even ABK, by far our best CB wasn't great today.

Selles approaching the management of the team like we're midtable and he's been told he has a three year contract.

Club leadership all over the place.

Players either mailing it in or not good enough.

Don't wish for relegation - it'll be the same clowns in charge and the only players left will be those others don't want.

I should add, we're not too far away in games on the whole but too often now we've been shown to be unable to piece together a 90min game and a lack of quality in either third makes all the difference.  We're rarely outclassed, we just don't have the quality to make a game of small margins ever go in our favour.

None of the players, nor Selles, look stressed or remotely concerned about our position, or during games when we are losing. 
 

Far too relaxed about everything.
