A key member (and captain) of our 1965/6 promotion season. In a game against Wolves he scored an early own goal. The expression on his face ( he was right in front of me in the Milton Road) was of absolute horror. He needn't have worried - we won the match 9-3. RIP Tony.

I was at the Milton Road End that day too and remember he seemed to head the ball over his head and into the back of the net

I always liked Tony as a player and followed him at Leicester when i lived in Leicestershire sixty five years ago he did much along with Paine and Chivers to get us to Div 1

His signing was seen as a real show of ambition at the time. The fee was much higher than we had paid before (Can't remember exactly)  and it caused some excitement, a major step towards promotion to the top league for the first time.
