Comfortable with Mara starting, he has looked like he is getting up to Premier League pace recently. Should cause West Ham some problems.

Elyounnoussi over Sulemana is a weird one, big risk from Selles.

Bench looks good!

Thanks for being our best attacking threat over the past few months, Alcaraz. Thanks for changing the game when you came on vs Spurs, Sulemana.

We're going to leave you both out in this absolute must win game and bring you on after an hour when we're playing catch-up and decide to actually play a bit of football.

West Ham’s lineup looks strong. Several players back for them. This could get ugly.

Agree  our team is hardly inspiring is it ?

Dreadfully uninspiring line up. How does Perraud and Elynoussi get another chance to show they are utter crap? Selles looks like he wants to frustrate west ham and then utilise the bench. Problem is that west ham midfield will absolutely bully us and we will be 2/3 down before those subs are planned.

In a must win match, we start an attacking player who has 2 assists and 1 goal in his last 38 league matches...He's not even good enough to win us some freekicks which looks like the only way we are gonna score

Not an inspiring line up, but these are the guys Selles trusts, and he has options on the bench.

On paper West Ham should win, but we know how their fans can get, there's more pressure on them.

Lose and it's all over as we're not getting anything next week. A draw probably isn't enough, but a win would be absolutely huge. For me this is undoubtedly our biggest and most important game since Swansea away. These players need to understand that and play like their lives depend on it. It's difficult to see us winning, heart says 1-0 Saints, head says 3-0 West Ham.

Let's face it, any lineup he could pick would be shit and have major weaknesses in it. Just got to somehow hope this one is cohesive, can defend and score a goal or two.

Who would you pick at left back? Perraud hasnt been bad, exposed at times but that's part of the sacrifice of having a fullback that likes to bomb forward. Him and Sulemana linked up very well which makes it more frustrating that the latter has been dropped.

Who's the bird interviewing Alan Smith on sky more importantly, she's like Kenzie Benali 2.0

Yep. Genius if it works, useless if it doesn't. The thin line that football managers dare to tread...

At least it gives fans the chance to dust off their "told you so" cards if it fails, or "glad to be proven wrong" cards if it succeeds... ;)

Dunno if I can get this much dust off my cards by full time. I'll see if I can borrow a power washer...

KWP left back and AMN right back. Perraud and Elynoussi combo is horrific.

Yeah I'm seeing that too. Frustrate them for an hour lads, keep it really tight.

Three minutes in, FFS! Crowd roaring...

At some stage in the last 10 games of the season Saints are going to have to try and win a game rather than just trying to avoid defeat.

Best we can expect today is to sneak a 0-1 win but I feel a 4-1 defeat is much more likely. Draw is no good.

So we end up with two right footed players on the left stunting any threat down the wing and a right back who hasn't shown anything above average all season, as opposed to a left back who is ok at defending and has a very good left foot when crossing into the box. Ok.

That’s what it looks like to me as well. Hopefully it pays off, I just struggle to see us staying in the game with so little attacking threat.

Perraud is not good at defending and doesn't have the pace to get back quickly in a 4-2-2-2 system. AMN been one do our better players in recent weeks. It should be sulemana not elynoussi starting but Selles is trying to be solid and frustrate west ham. Shame elynoussi is unbelievably bad.

Just because Elyounoussi turns up in time for training and puts an arm round a youngster he gets games. Really what the hell, he offers nothing!

Amazing the difference in quality between 20th and 19th. Moyes is doing a terrible job with that group of players.

Perraud is maybe the worst crossing full-back I’ve ever seen.

What a load of nonsense. He's better than KWP who, for all his strengths, almost never picks the right ball into the box.

How’s him scoring a deflected shot relevant to me saying he can’t cross a ball?

How’s him being the fullback that’s more of a goal threat than the other two you mentioned, worthy of dropping ?

maybe his thought process is to go with the more `workmanlike' Ely and then bring Sulemana on when players are getting tired and there is a bit more space to work with?

Can anyone explain how Elyanoussi keeps getting picked? Does Selles like shit footballers?

Just watch him, he’s dominating that area around the centre circle when the ball isn’t there. World class without the ball that lad

He's successfully completed 1 out of 3 passes so far....

Zero pace in this side. Or actual realization of the plight we’re in, seemingly. Such a painful watch - slow and plodding, just so pleased with tippy tap. Ralph legacy.
