hypochondriac Posted 26 January, 2009 Share Posted 26 January, 2009 I will only be happy when we survive and when everyone is united and behind the club. This will never happen whilst lowe and his policies are here. Even if we survive this year, next year will be very similar. If we had Pearson we would have much more united support and therefore I believe a greater chance to survive.
JohnnyFartPants Posted 26 January, 2009 Share Posted 26 January, 2009 I'm sure they [Ruperts rat pack] welcome your efforts. Can you tell us why no board member was present? I told them to keep the (unts guessing.
SaintRobbie Posted 26 January, 2009 Share Posted 26 January, 2009 But it's safe to assume that you have no intention of uniting behind the team in the meantime? I think we have no choice. We MUST support the team until it's all over... which will be in late March under Wotte. Ponty - we HAVE to get behind the team on match days. AND we have to protest hard for Lowe et al's removal up until 1 minute before kick off and for a couple of hours after the ful time whistle. Mole Posted 26 January, 2009 Share Posted 26 January, 2009 **** me, some people. We're not going to get any alternative manager so why not give the bloke a go. Who knows, eh, he might just get the players playing. Why can't we get an alternative manager. Are you suggesting that Lowe is a pariah to potential candidates? Block 5 Posted 26 January, 2009 Share Posted 26 January, 2009 At what point do you realise that the support has got us nowhere and that the only way to improve the situation is to protest in the hope that a sensible change is made which would give us a fighting chance? I and many others have now reached that point. You and me both Hypo; and I will be standing right beside you on the march to the Swansea game. And tomorrow night, I will be singing and shouting at Carrow Road.

ottery st mary Posted 26 January, 2009 Share Posted 26 January, 2009 He's had a dig at McMenemy and Crouch on SSN - indirectly that is by referring to previous Chairmen 'and even previous Managers' bickering with the current regime. He also stated is contract only runs to the end of the season. Let's hope this is not one gamble too far but having no one alongside him from the Board at todays press conference was all too reminiscent of Wigley in the mobile office announcing his position - whatever that was! Ruperts never far away even when he is, so to speak....Recognise that tone Mr Lowe.

I know DD, but you know, fresh start, new leaf, even an old cynic like me is prepared to give the guy a chance. What a difference if he'd come out and said: "Look, we've been pants at home all season. Hands up, it is simply not good enough and I and the players not only share the blame, but are also sorry for the part we have played in Jan's demise. We've let you down. You deserve better. BUT, the lads are desperate to put this right and are working harder then they have ever worked in their lives not just to win for you, but to put on a show. So, I know we've asked before, but can I urge you to dig deep and give me a chance to show you how much this club means to me and your team. How about it?" Stoozer Posted 26 January, 2009 Share Posted 26 January, 2009 He says we should stop moaning and criticising everything and says we are not united, then says that this was the reason we are in this position. Ridiculous to blame the fans. I'm not sure he was just blaming the fans. It seemed to me that he was having a pop at coaches, players, directors (past and present) AND fans. And to a certain extent I agree with him.

Not really the best way to unite the fans by suggesting it is there fault in any way. It is the division caused by Lowe which is the problem. wild-saint Posted 26 January, 2009 Share Posted 26 January, 2009 I have to admit I wasn't going to mention how distasteful I thought that was. Lowe's stooooooge 100%. Completely unnecessary and actually continues to disunite the Club by mentioning it in the first place. Has there ever been a manager so few fans wanted at SMS when he started? Even Wigley was given the benefit of the doubt. Recipe for failure. HE WILL BE SEEN AS LOWE'S PUPPET FROM NOW ON IN. The statement above just solidifies the tag. Oh well mate, sit out side the ground and shout your abuse. The man is here to stay and to be fair he is right. Everyone connected to this club is critising, moaning and generally adding to a negative atmosphere. He has my full support until I have the opportunity to judge his credentials over a period of time. What other option is there (as I dont believe in creating negative atomospheres during the game) until someone who actually puts thier money on the table and offers something better. I hear rumours of various consortiums, i hear rumours of ITK's stating that crouch has tried to make a deal. Bull****, if they are serious make it public and tell everyone what your plan/ proposition is? Then its time for the fans to make thier choice and force the issue. Until that time am i to seriously believe the internet ramblings of an anonomous poster on a forum that claims insider knowledge. For all I know most of these guys that supposedly have thier ear to the ground are just muppets sat in front of PC's weraring white Y-fronts whilst smearing peanut butter on their bits. And lowe, Crouch, Macmenemy askam et el, fVck you all. Ill support my team(manager included whoever he may be) and the day someone stands up in public and tell me why and how they are more qualified to run the club than the current asswipes then Im afraid were stuck with them. God this whole situation ****s me off, I just want to watch some good football (preferably winning) and quite frankly not know or care about the name of the people who own the club. chi saint Posted 26 January, 2009 Share Posted 26 January, 2009 Well he speaks a hell of a lot clearer than his ex boss and for me he seems to have more steel about him. Time of course will tell but I for one hope at least for the next few games we as fans get behind him, if things don't improve then we've nothing to lose and criticsm will be justified. As for the Svensson appointment that is meant to appiase the fans and of course as he's drawing a wage why not use him in some capacity rather than him just sitting on the side lines. saintpat Posted 26 January, 2009 Share Posted 26 January, 2009 Before I read what many of you so-called Saints fans on here had written, I thought he was having a pop at everyone, fans, current directors, past directors and managers who have their own agendas in mind far more than those of the club as a whole. I've re-watched the video after reading so much garbage on here and still feel the same. Our club is in turmoil, there is no question about that but the constant complaining and moaning about EVERYTHING that happens by so many people on this board suggests we don't deserve any better. Lowe coming back was always going to dis-unite the club further, he is obviously far too stupid and thick skinned to realise this or even worry about it. However without him in charge I think you could safely say we would already be in administration and probably be performing worse than we are now. However whatever anyone thinks of that supercilious, arrogant, moronic, pathetic individual, we still have a team and a new manager to support. Digging, complaining, whinging etc. about the new manager does no good. THE ONLY way that Saints will pull themselves out of trouble is to get behind the new manager and Team 100%. What Wotte has said is perfectly correct, unfortunately too many people on here are even more stupid than Lowe and his cronies.
BadgerBadger Posted 26 January, 2009 Share Posted 26 January, 2009 Wotte seems to have a bit a steel about him and is certainly aware of the 'trenches mentality' the situation reuqires which is an improvement on JP - time will tell but this is far from the end of the mess and the brave new dawn

Good start Mark - you've got my support for now, very positive and encouraging!!
Bailey Posted 26 January, 2009 Share Posted 26 January, 2009 To be fair to Wotte, I think he said all the right things and made a good impression. He gave a very open and honest account of the situation, and it's particularly encouraging to hear that he may change formation! Also good to see that the experienced players will play a more prominent role. I mentioned in another thread that we could potentially have a very good spine to the team, with the youngsters being built around it. Could line up as follows . . . ----------------- Davis ------------------ --------- Saeijs -------- Perry ----------- --------- Wotton ------ Euell ------------ ---------- Saga ---- Denneboom? ------ Using our experienced players is likely to give us the best possible chance of avoiding the drop, and if Wotte can get the right blend between youth and experience then we MIGHT just see results improve. graymalkin33 Posted 26 January, 2009 Share Posted 26 January, 2009 Yet they refused to Let Leon have a go. I have seen the press conference can you please quote from that where Mark says anything about fans taking the blame... please come on ... just type it out and show us all. He did have a sideways go at the fans when he said "Let us do the fighting on the pitch" I think thats only what any normal person would of said. No one wants to see fans fighting amongst them selves in a ground with kids there. Its just appalling.

What fans DO NOT want is to be lectured by some bloody goon who has contributed to our meagre position of teetering on the brink of league One. Where I come from ACTION speaks louder than words. I have ALWAYS given this club 100% support and MORE OF MY MONEY than I can afford. It is not a trade I am asked to make but one made voluntarily in return, I hope, for some effort and satisfaction. I don't even ask for results. Who does? But all I have had this season is SPIN. SPIN, SPIN and more firking SPIN. And like so many, I am pig sick of the complete tripe that I am spoon fed by an organisation that, like the team on the pitch, lacks SPINE. What a difference an E can make eh?? We are bombarded with stories about how we are now 'united' as though somehow poor old Jan was the cause of this malaise. As though he was the root of our problems. Well, I'm too old for this ******** - cos that's what it is. Frankly, we should colour out the white stripes and call the team new Labour. Same colour, same spin, same results... only no boom, all bust. Will it stop me going? No. But for Pete's sake, take your patronising PR guff and shove it where the sun don't shine. No offence. PokingFun Posted 26 January, 2009 Share Posted 26 January, 2009 Agree but he is good friends with Lowe so would expect something like that. He will be judged on results not what he says and having a go at the fans before you have even had 1 game is a very stupid thing to do. He will be judged by results but he has a very difficult job as he is already on a loser due to being associated with Jan. To be fair to him, he did give a little bit of criticism to the various boards and asked them to stop their fighting and unite as well as the fans so fair play on that point. Bottom line is this is what we will be stuck with so its a case of pays your money takes your chance for the rest of this season because any protests are unlikely to result in a new manager being installed.... PokingFun Posted 26 January, 2009 Share Posted 26 January, 2009 He sounded like a **** to me mate. Not being funny but it was hardly the best wayto start if he wanted unity. Give the guy a break, I think he was trying to get across that the recent history was one of not being united and he is absolutely correct. I thought his conference was alright, he is placing some trust in the team around him and is asking the players to give their all on the pitch and I guess time will tell whether he can turn it around.....one thing is for sure he is clearer than Jan and probably would struggle to do any worse.
