Whilst we are linked with a player that Leicester want to move on because they have signed Winks. I think Winks will be a tidy player for them.

He was awful at sampdoria and didn't stand out in a woeful team.

Please be true, please reach an agreement, please get the lazy sod out of the club.

He got 8 goals and 6 assists in his last season in Scotland. Simply not enough for a player aspiring to play in the premier League, it was a woeful signing

We must be in with a good chance, unless there is any PL interest?

Think I’d rather sign Downes, who knows the Martin system and who we have looked at before, than Harry Winks.

Be surprised if there wasn't PL interest in him. Palace were linked last summer, and you'd have thought newly promoted teams especially Luton might be keen to add a player with some (limited) experience at this level.

Rather than Newcastle threatening to walk away, the narrative should surely be Southampton have told them if they don’t pay the price they can fuck right off.

Tell them they can Salisu instead, for a 'knockdown' price of £35m.

A Rice/Lavia double pivot will be incredibly solid

Players who can do it all. Tackle, pass, pass forward, great energy off the ball, athletic, strong. Arsenal probably one squad centre half and a squad striker short of a pretty formidable team.

They will be back. There is two months of the window left. If they really want him they will get him.

Its just negotiation, and with 3 years on his contract and players like Nathan Collins moving for £23m we have a decent position.

If we sell them JWP you'd have to think that would put us in the driving seat.

Newcastle trying it on.

out goes Tino and KwP, then

Abu has only played a handful of PL2 games, playing mainly for Chelsea's U18's. He's not been out on loan anywhere.

I would be very surprised if he's a first team signing.

£30m 😂

Expect the cunts to offer us £32m, plus a couple of 'promising' duds from their youth set up (they must have another one rated as highly as Adam Hamill we loaned off them last time down).

Just hope the club don't fall for it.

So far so good, they seem to be sticking to their guns. Suspect we’ll end up with a £40m plus add ons situation. Would rather sell to Arsenal!

Unless the player creates a fuss I'd like to see us stick to our valuation. He's worth more to us staying and helping to get us back up than the value they're putting on him.

Would be quite funny if they were the team that signed him, having witnessed ‘that’ miss/handball at their place last season.

Unfortunate that he only has a year left as makes it inevitable that he leaves.

Would have been a great player to keep for this season IMO.

Hardly, I’d say there’s a 50:50 chance we’ll keep him to try and get promoted, knowing he’ll leave on a free next summer. If we sell him it’ll be because we think the offer’s worth it.

I agree, he will have much more time on the ball in this league and it’s maybe worth risking a free transfer if we think he could fire us back to the PL. Better the devil we know?

I was expecting him to be sold as he will suit a number of teams. He's a good player but we can replace him.

I find myself in this camp, I like him, think he’ll do well.. but realistically makes sense to cash in and fund someone like Piroe/Gyokeres

Newcastle springs to mind.  Unsure if he's been linked elsewhere.

KWP really damaged his chances of a big move last season, for me. He was shocking at times, specifically towards the end of the season. I'd be amazed if any of the bigger prem clubs came in for him on the back of that. He'll get a move to Fulham or the like.

More importantly it would leave us with Armstrong, Mara and young Ballard as recognised strikers (if Onuachu also goes) so that's one non-prolific striker, one underwhelming striker thus far and one untested youth striker. Definitely would need a signing there, if not 2 (although I wouldn't want to block Ballard's pathway).

Not a snowball’s chance in hell for Gyokeres, a quick google and he’s being linked with Everton, Lisbon, Atalanta and West Ham. Never in a million years will he still be in the Championship next year.

I very much doubt it too, which is why I said somebody like

The point still stands though

Not sure time on the ball does Che much good. He seems better when he has no time to think about it.

Do we see Flynn Downes as the Lavia replacement? He seems great at winning the ball and starting attacks, and keeping possession under pressure.

Maybe, but we’d have to hope no prem sides take a punt.  *Maybe* get creative if West Ham come in for JWP.

There was talk of Tyler Morton a couple of weeks back. Decent player, to be fair. Ball playing 6. Could see him fitting into Martin's supposed style.

Part-exchanges never happen though.

Not sure I see him as a pure defensive holding midfielder, but he certainly has the quality to keep the ball and play in tight places. He's a good player at our level. whether he will be willing to drop a level is really debatable.
