Give us a clue. What are the first 8 letters of their name?

Seeing the money being thrown around, I reckon the Premier League was too rich for Saints.

we were still shopping in the under 20m section

Patrick Stewart played King Claudis in Hamlet, he obtained the throne of Denmark. Denmark is where Hummel comes from, We have extended our kit deal with Hummel until 2030.

Jean-Luc Péricard new striker!

We’re after Patrick Roberts and Ross Stewart. Why not combine the deal and just sign Patrick Stewart?

Guess it protects our financial interests because he'll be our asset rather than walking.

So he's blackmailing us? Let me leave now and I'll let you get some money next year. If you don't I'm leaving for nothing?

I don’t 100% blame them, if I had a 40% pay cut I’d be pissed too I just wish I had some confidence that the owners would dig their heels in a little and we weren’t just caving to player power.

They signed the contract. Besides, I'm sure any new contract we've offered him would likely get rid of a lot of that drop.

That is true, but putting myself on the inside for a second - if there is absolutely nothing agreed for those guys at this point, then we shut the door in my opinion and tell clubs their time is up. Shouldn't be negotiating anything tomorrow.

for what it's worth all the players above were in normal full training today (bar Onuachu) if any moves were signed and agreed, pending on us getting players in, I doubt they'd be training as they were.

possibly, but if they know they ain't moving until we do replacement deals, then life goes on, including attending training. Despote all the departures, its still a hell of a lot of talent to retain if they don't get moves tomorrow. I assume they will get the chance to fight for a place and play, even Sulemana.

Sky Sports just confirmed what’s been alluded to, ie Stewart in for £8M + £2M and we’re in talks with Wolves over a loan for Che but extending his contract to protect us.
So agree, if Mara out, we need another one in. Getting interesting.

I suppose it could be Stewart in for Che and Ballard in for Mara?

Risky but I don't think I'd be too disappointed seeing Ballard get Mara's minutes. The obvious issue with this being who plays up front whilst Stewart is currently/and potentially injured.

Who plays upfront in September? Ballard?

Considering it's such a big month, it would be very risky.

Agreed. Letting Mara go only makes sense if Che stays and we add Stewart. We need one more CF plus a RW

Yeah that'd be the worry, seeing as Armstrong has looked mediocre there and decent anywhere else. It's not like Mara would've started either I suppose.

Sort of thing Les Reed or Semmens  would have been crucified for.

What crucified for something that hasn’t happened yet ? There’s a couple of you that seem to take glee in negativity. There must be something really missing in your lives.

Accept the point that it hasn’t happened yet, so hope that your confidence   is well placed and we don’t end up with Armstrong as our main, or sole striking option until Stewart is available and fully firing.

Things missing in my life ( cheeky sod 😄) - yes, a football club I have confidence in is on the list. Perhaps just psychologically scarred over the last few years.

You, I know, have full faith, and confidence,  in the management of the club. Fair enough. I’ll review their handling at the end of the season.

Not sure how mara who struggled to settle here will be any better off in Bremen a German version of Southampton known for its maritime trade.

Doesn't look like many french guys in the squad but German teams do seem better at developing french talent if you look at the conveyor belt they've been churning out.
