Also only Sunderland players that are currently injured. Roberts hamstring strain last weekend apparently.

Neither are properly injured.  Stewart faked an achilles injury in January when he first heard there might be a chance he could join us.

I know that feeling. I've been carrying my faked Achilles injury for nearly 30 years now.

I stopped reading when he said there's no doubts Saints would win the league 😍

Ah, the neutral aspect is completely void then. 😆

Still, definitely talked myself/been talked into being excited about the signing.

Ridiculously over the top for a guy who has played thirteen times at Championship level. Thirteen times.

I don't disagree, but it is nice to be signing players who people are raving about. Usually they haven't kicked a ball at all.

He stands just over six-foot-three. Rossy, Rossy

Wonder if this is a way of us getting Everton to bridge to our valuation on Sulemana?

Sunderland were trying to get hold of him on loan earlier in the summer, perhaps still are as a replacement for Stewart.

In which case, try and get a chain going so that everyone gets a player they want. Tell Everton they can have Sulemana if they let Cannon go to Sunderland and then Stewart can come to us... :D

Sunderland fans rate Stewart that's for sure, 6ft 4 and rapid pace what's not to like.

Forget that - he snapped his Achilles.

No player ever comes back from that the same physical specimen.

anyone with an Iphone figured out how to embed yet ?

There's genuinely a lot to like about this one and he does sound like an adequate replacement for Che. The big, big concern is that he seemingly can't stay fit. We cannot be pinning our hopes on someone with his injury record and who was only able to play 13 games last season.

Can’t we just sign everyone we’re linked with on 7 year heavily amortised  contracts and deal with the fallout later?

Only if they are knowledgeable re:- The Battle of Waterloo......

Not much of a goal threat if he's the Tella replacement. I wonder where we think the goals are coming from?

Don’t go questioning stuff like that - there are many on here who seem to think any signing is a good signing irrespective of quality, style or fitness! 😉🤣

To be fair he might be a great signing and we do keep being linked to attacking players despite the Stewart interest so I hopeful we will get someone in who scores goals.

I know absolutely nothing about Tom Cannon, but it's hard to believe that Everton have a striker who's any good - or they'd want to be playing him themselves surely?

PS Is he a big shot? Should we roll out the barrel for him? Etc....
