Everyone has his price at any club in world football, and I'd say a £40m deal for someone we signed for £4m and has been injured for 13months isn't something to be sniffed at.

Our model is about finding young kids, giving them a platform and selling them for a profit. We have made around £20m on him, that can't be sniffed at - so our model has clearly worked here.

It's a shame, as I thought he'd feel inclined to stay given we'd nurtured him for a year - but it's a good opportunity for him, I doubt he'll play a great deal though.

I was hoping to see him playing but to be honest I had forgotten that he was our player.

He’s not wrong, you could buy a better player from Europe for way less.

Come at a risk though, You know what you're getting with Ward-Prowse, he's a 6 or 7 out of 10 every week, not spectacular but a good solid premier league player with hundreds of appearances and will probably get you 10-15 goals a season from either scoring or free kicks into the box, West Ham are quite a big powerful team so i'd expect their players to take more chances from deadballs than our jokers did.

It's a position we're a little bit stocked in, with KWP and Bree - so it won't have the impact Lavia leaving will have, i.e no massive hole left from day 1.

Be interesting to see if we replace him, or if we go with KWP, Bree, Larios and Manning.

Good.  Alan Pace’s daughter can visit Amsterdam and put up flyers for a week.

She's probably wondering how she can make a video about this Daramy bloke and link it to Anne Frank.

I wouldn’t be too surprised if we sell KWP, buy Aarons, and go with him, Bree, Manning and Perraud (or Larios/Meghoma if we sell or loan him out).

Lots more to happen - Lavia out and replaced, Lyanco out (loan) and replaced; maybe ABK, maybe JWP, one of Tella or Sulemana plus Adams (sold) and Onuachu (loan).

Id expect a striker, replacements for a CB and Lavia but not a huge lot else in.

I’d personally like a new Keeper and another striker … doesn’t look like the club feel the same about a keeper though (not a 1st choice anyway)

Young Abu coming through, Payne, and Davis too. Not short of players who can do a job if needed.

The best part of this is it sends a message, loud and clear that West Ham can f**k right off with their £25m. If they think we’re selling our captain for less than a RB with fitness issues, they can think again.

I think it massively benefits us. Out of the 3 possible big sales, Tino would be the one i am least fussed about. Hasn't looked great in preseason and has suffered a lot with injuries in his time here. A large part of his game was his pace/athleticism when attacking down the right, and after the ACL there is no certainty right now whether he will ever fully recover that part of his game or what impact it will have on his ultimate potential. It also means we are in a much better spot now financially, and we really can wait until late in the window with transfer sales - which might well push up how much we get on Lavia/JWP or others... teams will know they've got to pay the asking price or risk someone else coming in.

Exactly. JWP has never been one to pick out a defence-splitting pass, and he never seemed to launch much offence last year after losing his long-term sidekick, but he has one of the best "engines" in UK football (something you only miss when you lose it), and he's a consistent 6 or 7. If we get the ball forward faster this year, which we will, he'll have more FK opportunities around the box - against lower-level 'keepers. He's very close to being worth more to us than to anyone else, so I'd be happy enough if we keep him.

We need at least two options per position. Is Bree going to be good enough cover??

No. Reality is that Bree has shown absolutely nothing for saints to imply he should be near our matchday squads. And would be pretty confident that KWP is off given his contract situation - surely we won't let him leave on a free.

Great deal my arse. Top player and if Newcastle felt there was a risk of the injury recurring or him not being the player he was before his injury then they wouldn't fork out £40m.

SR seem to be happy to sell anyone that meets their valuation. Assuming we get acceptable bids for JWP, Lavia, KWP,  Sulamana, Alcaraz, Tella, Adams then we will be left with the absolute dross. I can only assume the only reason Alcaraz isnt likely to be going is because he actually wants to stay rather than the club saying we wont sell.

Time will tell how much of any money generated will be spent on decent quality replacements.

Cheer up bud it's not that bad. Have a few deep breaths.

I have to say normally i like the transfer window but this one particularly seems the worst for "look at me", get engagement bollocks from fabrizo downwards they all seem to be guessing on little things they hear and their continued posting of nothing is underming their own credibility.

I've lost count of the amount of "done deals" that have happened but the player never signs or doesnt sign until a month later. Although the new tactic is to say the same thing a different way 5 days later.

July 1 - "Convict colony expects to make a bid for saintsweb membership,  first offer has gone into steve grant at 3quid"

July 2 - Here we go.

July 2 - "Steve rejects offer, stands firm on 5 quid"

July 8 - CC goes back with 4quid and a certain amount of gifs posted per month", take it or leave it offer.

July 9 - We are hearing it is nearly done and poster is expected on the forum this weekend.

July 9 - "steve rejects it"

July 10 - CC pays the 5 quid

July 11 - Our sources say CC has joined saintsweb.

Thing is it’s only really 23 mil to us .. and tino is probably the most exciting full back we had since bale..

I dunno I feel a bit meh on the deal personally I suppose we have probably maximised a great price for a player that’s just returning from a bad injury and might not even return as good .,

but at the same time if he ends up blowing up and becoming amazing the 23 mil we get is definitely nothing to wank over

Sorry but nothing that's said on an internet forum is stopping him from developing.

I don't buy the "he was a victim of being in a shit team piece". I get he is young and will make a mistake or two, but if he carries on as he is, he will cost us points this season for sure.

Your argument that he's 21 and won't peak for another 8 or 9 years is all the more reason to bring in a 1st choice GK and let Baz play understudy for a while.

Problem is being understudy deosn't develop a keeper, he will need regular game time to develop so a loan would be required. Problem there is the loan would need to be to a club at least our current level so subsidising a compettitor really. Maybe a loan outisde of the Cham\PL would be the best option?

I know it was a few years ago but we sold mane for 25. Tino has made us a huge profit that the vast majority of championship clubs would kill for and he's just had a serious injury and didn't look amazing in pre season. Personally I think it's a great deal if he had to go.

I heard that Steve is handing out free memberships to COT members, and in some cases paying them to drive engagement across the forum.

You just need to pass the initiation test and there will be no further need to haggle over your membership fee.

Yeah I do kinda agree we got a pretty decent price overall but the chelsea sell on does do a lot of damage to the actual figure we receive ..

do we know if we put any sell on clause in our sale ?

Reminds of WGS at Saints after 2003. WGS allegedly wanted Malbranque and Saha - Lowe wanted Kenton and Leon Best for 50p, only buying Kevin Phillips at the last minute after realising how criminally light the first team was in experience and quality, the type WGS seemingly wanted to bring in. We all know what happened over the following 18 months….

Didn't show much in what game time he had last season

Who did show much in what was an absolute shit show last season? Not great for him either that his former manager brought him in and then was sacked just weeks later. He a fresh start under RM and he was impressive during his last championship stint

My membership was denied due to my refusal to get involved in an initiation ceremony which involved what can only be described as borderline criminal behaviour.

Now I'm bitter and on a mission to expose the COT for what it really is.

We didn't buy Kevin Phillips at anything remotely like "the last minute".

I thought the Mane fee was £34m?

Plus I don't buy the "didn't look amazing in preseason" line I've seen a few times now - who does look amazing in preseason?

I did stick a tenner on Moyes first sacked at 14/1 a few days ago when I first heard about his conflict with the DOF, seems like Moyes has lost, they won’t be signing Maguire, Mctominay, JWP, Barnes like they wanted.

- Good with his feet

- Not afraid of stepping down the leagues

- Wilcox wiill know from from Man City

- Vastly experienced

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't he binned by Pep at City because he is shit with the ball at his feet, and doesn't suit the play out from the back style?

I actually think Bazunu is really good with the ball at his feet, it's just the keeping it out of the net which lets him down!

Perfect for us and our centre backs who are shit with the ball at their feet and don't suit that style either
