Which is fantastic news. I will be ecstatic if KWP, Salisu, Lavia and Sulemana are still our players in September.

Salisu can fuck off sharpish. Downed tools last season and clearly doesnt want to be here. If clubs are holding off until January to get him on a free then I doubt he'll be exerting much effort up until then. A few other mysterious 'injuries' will likely crop up

Are you kidding? He will stay no doubt about that and will be a superb player for us. Head and shoulders above anybody else we've got and with the right coaching will be a world class CB. Come on if you had to choose between Stephens & Salisu, who would you choose if your livelihood depended on it.

In a trench Stephens no contest. Salisu is brittle, temperamental and lacking in character. When he chooses he can be a fantastic defender but throwing tantrums when the going gets tough like it did last season means he is a luxury. We need leaders and Jack would be a candidate.

Looks like as a club we’re sticking to our guns.. and that is so refreshing

We’re of course going to lose players, but unlike under the limp backbone of Semmens it looks like, currently, its on our terms

It seems as though he's looking for a job as opposed to anything else....

I agree,, just fucking no no no!
I think sulemana probably has the highest ceiling of anyone on on our books maybe bar lavia , we only saw glimpses of it so far but when he’s on it and running at players at pace he looks absolutely frightening like he did late on vs spurs and Liverpool.. sky’s the limit and he could be mane good .. would tear the championship a new arsehole:

absolutely stupid if we let him go he’s only been here since jan and like Alcaraz should be forced to give us at least a season ..

our attack is already pretty much there  play a mixture of sulemana tella/edozie as wide/inside forwards  Alcaraz in 10 behind and new striker funded by selling adams and we have championship porn level attack .. we really really should keep that bunch together

I thought we might have some plan around which players to keep but it’s starting to look like everyone is up for grabs so I wouldn’t get too attached to Alcaraz either :(

Great fee for Salisu.

Never improved from when he initially joined, cannot pass a ball and seemed to act pretty dodgy towards the end of last season. Could see him still having a good career, but nowhere near the one I expected when he joined.

I'm definitely interested to see what sort of deal we've struck for Sulemana. Hard to see those French clubs paying £20m? We might go down to £15m at a stretch I suppose. But a loan would suit both parties more I'd have thought

This time of year there are dozens, if not hundreds, of domino scenarios out there. The question is which departure will start them falling for us. Despite their comprehensive nest-shitting last year, I have faith that the club's leadership team will end up with a highly competitive squad; I'm sure their dominoes are lined up.

While our squad is certainly bloated, I'm hesitant to say "good riddance" about some of the potential departures. They're not bad players - they're good players who were unable to maintain form and motivation within a shit-show coaching environment, or who just didn't get a chance under that utter numb-nuts, Selles. It'll be frustrating to see them shine elsewhere.

So, as of the Reading game, the following players haven’t featured in pre season games:  Onuachu; Perraud; Small; S Armstrong; Sulemana; Salisu; Larios; ABK; Simeu.

Of those, Armstrong has been injured and Small, Larios and Simeu may be looking at loans out. Quite telling that the others have not even made the squads. Definitely don’t see Onuachu, Perraud, Sulemana, Salisu and ABK being here next season (unless we can’t find anyone to stump up for them), and can add Lavia to that list too. Likely to be other departures too (at least one of Tino and KWP, who knows what’s going on with JWP, and keeping Alcaraz would be a coup), it’s going to be an interesting August to see who comes and goes.

Think Perraud and ABK have been just as injured as Armstrong fwiw. Salisu has featured also. Agree they all leave though, hopefully.

I expect August to be very busy. Hoping for some nice surprises for incomings if we do happen to clear the decks.

Yeah you’re right about Salisu, he did feature, my mistake. I can’t see any way in which ABK stays to be honest, there wer various rumours about Perraud going but I haven’t seen anything come up on the rumour mill.

Jacob Tanswell mentioned interest from Europe (mainly Germany) and 1 prem side.

Started (going by the pictures on the official site) training out on the pitch with the first team squad this week, having previously been rehabbing in the gym.

Or maybe he won't. I'd bite Fulham's hand off for £15m. Just back from the Reading game and across the back Manning, Charles, Bednerek +1 (probably Bree given KWP will probably be off) would do me. I'd argue ABK is probably the best of our central defenders but don't trust his commitment. Still think we need a striker. And on today's performance, comparing Edozie & Tella, Edozie looks far better, so if Burnley offer the reputed £20m for him, take it before they have second thoughts.

Disagree. I thought Tella looked bright, I wouldn’t want to lose him. He crashed the bar with a great shot and generally looked decent, very direct. I’d rather have Tella than £20M (which I don’t think we’d quite get anyway), he’s a known quantity in this league and I think if we can keep him he’ll be very important for us.

I'd like to keep both of them too and wouldn't want Tella gone for the sake of selling him. But if you had the choice of keeping Tella or Edozie, would you keep Tella?

Tella. Edozie has got an awful lot to prove yet, Tella has got form in the bank.

Fair point. I think Edozoe's speed and potential will come good this season. Changing the subject, wasn't Charles brought in as a defensive midfielder to replace Lavia? He played centre back today. Does that mean Lavia could be staying? Only Liverpool have so far shown a real interest and if they don't meet our asking price, perhaps he will play in the Championship.

Cringeworthy. Guy has paid for a blue tick in the last week to appear more “reliable”. 😂

He Called Manning at staplewood and we signed him that same day.
He called Lyanco to besiktas, That same day Fabrizio was putting out tweets he was heading to Besiktas.

He tweeted it when it had already been linked from other sources. 😅

He’s as reliable as Alex Crooks and Talksport; just rehashes stories already doing the rounds and claims he has sources.
